Any advice to dating a Chinese girl?
Never dated anyone outside my race before... anyways, she was born here but her parents are from China. She is 32. Just wondering if anyone has some insight into the unknown for me.

Don't ask her parents if you cook cats and dogs in their foods.
Seriously though....just be yourself. If her perents don't get you, and she is inclined to follow her parents wishes, then NOTHING you do will make a difference.
I have NEVER dated within my race. I learned that people are either going to accept you or not. And trying to be different will never change who you really are.

you seriously sound just like my gf's dad.
(shes chinese).
anyway. Is the girl assimilated or act like an FOB? if she's grown up in america all of her life (or like 90% of it) then she'll probably act pretty white/american. dont worry about the parents... just be respectful as best you can and if you treat their 32yr daughter well then you'll be fine.
be careful too... they are either shy as hell in bed or straight up crouching tiger, hidden penis in her mouth before you know it.

what is she? another CCH (cracker chasin ho)? j/p
don't ever ask stuff like does she likes karate since she'll bitchslap you and tell you she's chinese and not japanese. not infrequently, asians of a particular race (i.e. japanese, korean, chinese, thai, filipino) don't like being confused with one another so be chill. it doesn't really bother me, people often think i'm half caucasian and i take it as a compliment that i look different even though i'm japanese.
don't ask if her favorite movies include joy luck club or crouching tiger, hidden dragon or enter the dragon, etc. don't ask if she's into manga or shit like that either. i don't think anybody cares too much about being stereotyped.
you'll probably be better off viewing her raceblind and just being straight up cool like you would with any other girl.
that being said, family is often top priority for a lot of asians and perhaps even more so for 1st and 2nd generations.
finally don't forget that chinese love hennesy straight up on the rocks so you can impress her folks with that when the times comes.
but mix that shit with diet coke and you'll have another bitchslap comin your way lol.

HEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm chinese (taiwanese technically) but go figure.
Anyways, if she's americanized then you have no problem.
My husband's white and we're great together!
Like everyone else said......respect her parents....
If you ever get close, you'll have tons of great chinese food for the rest of your life!
If you need anything else.....pm!
Don't forget.....there's also chinese (or any culture in general) where their parents have a greater influence and they pick up their own culture rather than being truly "americanized." For instance, I find that many koreans keep a lot of traditions and stuff intact. Someone I knew (ex-friend) had deep traditions and her parents were very by the book in terms of their culture.

if she likes u enough, her parents will follow suit. maybe learn a few basic greetings first such as hello and thank you. dont put forearms on table when eating. really wow them by getting ur gf food first n putting it on her plate/bowl. avoid stereotypes n most of all, dont stretch ur eyes out n say ching chong ching!

From what you've written on AZ in the past, you seem to be in some weird on-again-off-again "engagement" with your current fiancee/mother of your children. My advice would be not to bother dating ANYONE of ANY race until you've come to a FINAL and PERMANENT solution/status with your current relationship. You always seem very impulsive and negative towards your "fiancee". Figure all that stuff out first. Man up, and don't cheat until you've "officially" moved on.

is she still your fiancee?
anyways. if she was born here, chances are her parents are pretty americanized by now. so hopefully race isn't/won't be an issue.
but i'd still be respectful and polite to her parents. asian parents like that.

some advice in dating a Chinese girl? Treat her like a spoiled princess if you really must date one b/c they're gonna expect to be treated that way considering their parents spoil/baby/treat them like princesses ... I would be more worried about the whole respect issue if you were dating a Korean girl @___@

Be yourself, respect her parents as you would anybody else's.
If they are relatively new to the country, remove your shoes before you walk into their home.

I am new to dating outside my race, as well (I'm Caucasian). I've been dating a Chinese guy (actually, Taiwanese) for 2 months now and things are going great. My parents love him, but I still have yet to meet his parents. I'll probably meet them next month. They are away every 2 months (sometimes more) working at their business which is out of state.
Anyway, I can't say things aren't a little bit different culturally, but it's something new and interesting, and I am looking forward to meeting his family (although I'm a bit nervous to meet his mom, haha). There is always going to be a learning curve when you meet someone's family, no matter what race they belong to, so it's just some more stuff to get used to.
My BF's family came here from Taiwan several years ago. His dad came first and got established, then brought the rest of the family over when my BF was about 14 (he's now 32).

Hopefully your dating out of your race experience goes better than mine did. It was either her parents (in one case) or my parents (in the other) that didn't approve, which made for a very stressful relationship both times. There's always the exception to the rule though so lets hope that I just got the raw end of the deal on both mine and her parents except you for who you are, not for what race you happen to be.
