I don't give a shit either. It's just not as common as the guy in a relationship being older than the woman.

I am closing 26 soon soon and my G/F will be turning 23 a week right after that. There's a 3 year age gap but to most they think well it's only 3 years However I BEG TO DIFFER! I can't speak for all but I will at least share my feelings on this. We've been dating for for 9 years now, (yes 9 long years now) and had our up's and down's. The biggest issues to myself seems to be that when I hit 25 I struck what's called a Quarter life crisis. At age 22 vs 25 you may not want to go clubbing, go and play beer pong ect. Life takes a more serious role where this is the half way point till you hit 30 and by then you'd expect to be married, moved out of your parents home and stand on your own two feet.
For others they continue to act the same way from 18 onward to 30 which is fine, you live your life the way you want to and enjoy it. The age difference at one point or another may catch up. In simple terms the oldest (in theory) will tend to tone down and prepare themselves to become a more mature and serious person and the younger will still continue to enjoy doing things as if you still turned 18. Again, this may not apply to all people, I know everyone is different in their own ways. I was raised different from most and it's mainly due to having old school European family.
It's hard to explain in full, but as long as you have communication and are taking it the best that you can, age won't even be an issue. Once married and stuff it won't matter anymore, it only seem to be a problem when your just beginning in your 20's and this is the point in life where you want to do things and know yourself better. As you being older may have already done this and said "Ok, I had fun time to think about the future" your G/F will have her time to explore and do things. Like I said it's a hard thing to explain, my G/F Is in this stage of her life, I on the other hand work hard, put away money and getting ready to get married at least 3 years from now. It may seem like 3 years is a lot of time but it's not so your thought process changes. Like I said you will know that feeling when it hits you. Best of luck!

Sorry if it seems I'm thread jacking.
Speaking of age gaps...thought I'd add that my father informed me just yesterday that he's seeing a 29 year old. How old is my father? 54.
That is weird.

I'm sure it would mean a lot to your dad if you were genuinely happy for him.

I understand that it might seem awkward to you. But you have to consider that your dad deserves some happiness in his life. If this brings it to him, then you might want to give him a pat on the back and a

I'll see if I can find her last name so I can stalk her on Facebook. I have a friend who works with her.

Ha, I never really paid any attention to this thread. When I was in HS, I dated a girl 1.5 years older than me. My parents were freaked out. I ended up marrying a woman 4 years older than me. Now divorced, I find myself dating someone 17 years younger than me. Life goes on.

Sweet thread bump Justin, thanks. Next time keep your boner to yourself.
Damn you're all over the place huh? So your parents didn't like you dating someone older than you? Interesting.
And now you're dating someone 17 years younger? Dang. As long as you're happy, that's all that matters! I wish you the best of luck with your relationship
