1) cheese
2) tortilla
3) pan

Now.... if you wanna take it a step further... add some chicken.

Pasta, sauce, meatballs. Easy.

And if you are poor, like I was in school, pasta, sause, no meatballs.

Also get some ground beef and make hamburgers. Remember, a $1 loaf of bread is like 15 hamburger rolls

Ham, can't go wrong with Boar's Head if they have it. Ground beef, for one meal, figure 1/2 lb before cooked, but you can up or down that if you eat more or less.

Trader Joe's is a cool place. Its on the expensive side though. They have some nice stuff.

Chicken

Here is an easy way to enjoy a Chicken dinner. If you have a Sam's Club near you, they sell Chicken Thighs (13 to the package) and they are huge ones too, for $4.75. Then buy a bottle of Bullseye brand (or any on sale) grilling sauce or marinade. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Take a foil pan that you can buy for .99 at the .99 store, spray it with Pam cooking spray, pour some of the sauce to coat the bottom of the pan thinly. Then place the thighs in the pan face up next to each other. Then coat the sauce on top of each thigh. Spreading it out on each with a fork lightly. Then cover the pan with aluminum foil. Now place the pan in the oven and cook for about 1.5 hours. Remove from the oven (use oven mitts--thought I would share this tip to the new cooks out there....lol) Then serve hot. The side dish can be any of the Lipton side dish packages of either pasta or rice. Follow the directions on each individual box. You can buy prewashed and sliced mixed green salad cheaply as well. Put it all together and impress a date. Or chow alone but dine well for a change. This is a no fuss way to a great meal. The meat will fall off of the bone and be the most tender you have ever had with no fuss. Let us know how your's turns out.

food network is cool, but their recipes require too many ingredients and time.

I have seen cookbooks with recipes that use no more than 5 ingredients each. perhaps that would be more helpful.

But from personal experience, bulk up on your basics like pastas, eggs, meat (chicken breast, pork chops).

Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches:
take a slice of bread and cover one side of it with peanut butter;
take another slice and cover one side ot it with jelly (your choice of flavor)
put the to sides that have the spread on them together, enjoy with a glass of milk...

Cereal.
buy cereal
pour out a bowl
pour milk on top and enjoy (best when milk is used, if not milk, then use water or if a redneck use ice cold budweiser)

Ramen noodles:
take out of package and heat in a saucepan with flavoring
enjoy while hot.

Pizza:
call pizza place and order

These ae things that I ate while in college....

Here's another pretty simple recipe:

*Get a pack of chicken breast fillets and a bottle of italian dressing.
*Marinate every lb of chicken with about 1/2 a cup of italian dressing.
*Let sit for at least an hour.
*Then put it on a grill....cook for about 8 min (depending on grill) flipping every so often and you're done

You can cook the chicken when you want to eat it or you can cook all the chicken all at once and reheat when you have a craving...tastes just as good either way.

Shape into patties and cook..your choice of cooking method.....grill,fry,broil,boil ( gross )
,microwave.

For meatballs ...add breadcrumbs, grated cheese and itailian spices......brown in skillet...finish off in sauce.

For easy Sloppy Joes.....brown ground beef in skillet add tomato sauce or what ever sauce u find from BBQ to Sloppy Joe sauce in can and spoon onto bread.

Easy recipe

Got a can of beer? Get a 2-4 # chicken.
Got a grill?
Beer butt chicken. Seriously. Opena can of beer and drink 1/2 then dump a 1/2 sick of butter into the can (open the top witha a can opener) and set the chicken on the can-yes in the butt. Turn your grill on low if 1 burner or low on the off side burner if more than 1. Put a piece of foil down on the side without burner or in center if single. Set up chcken on grill and let cook for 1-1.5 hrs.
If you want to get fancy, throw some seasonings in addition to Salt and Pepper in and on the chicken.

Wayyy moist and great flavor.

Man you should also check out a recipe book written by Men's Health. It's called "A Man, a Can, a Plan". The title of the book says it all, the recipes are pretty straight forward and tastes pretty good. The recipes require minimal cooking using the stove, oven, grill, or the microwave. All the meals take no longer than 30 min max to prepare and you make 4 servings.

Or if you live and die cooking with the grill there's also a book called "A Man, a Can, a Grill". I haven't seen that one so I dont know how it is.

This is great and will impress a date with your super cooking skills:

Ingredients:
* boneless Chicken Breast
* Veg Oil (I use olive, but peanut / canola is fine too)
* Salt
* Pepper
* Lemon

Steps:
1) Heat up a pan as high as you can. WHILE it is getting hot:
2) Rub a little oil into the chicken. (Enough so its glossy, not enough you'll wash the salt off)
3) Rub some salt & pepper into the oiled chicken.
4) Once the pan is blazing hot, drop the chicken on it. Let it cook for about 3 - 4 min per side (really dependant on the power of your stove though. If your not sure, cut it in the thickest part and make sure its white, maybe a very tad bit white white pink.)

Pour a little lemon juice from the lemon over it and eat! When your friends / date asks, its just "Seared Lemon Chicken" (Sounds fancy, eh?)

Heres another simple one using the same idea

Cut the chicken up into small pieces, but otherwise do the same cooking. Dont use the lemon.

Mix: Lettuce, caesar dressing, lemon juice, pepper, parmasan cheese and the cooked chicken into a bowl. You now have chicken caesar salad.

Throw: onto a tortilla an wrap it up. You now have a chicken caesar wrap.

Good luck!

BTW: Dont play around with the chicken while its in the pan. YOu'll mess up that great protein crust thats forming and is the halmark of good seared food. Dont be scared off by the science stuff. Just dont touch the chicken except to flip it.

To add to the good lemon chicken recipe.

Add artichoke hearts and capers, deglaze with fresh lemon juice, simmer, return chicken to pan covered to finish cooking. Although you'll have to lower the pan temp for the simmering and careful to stir constantly as you deglaze to not burn the artichokes. stove has a temp knob for a reason.

serve over pasta.

you're as good as laid.
