Oreo Truffles
My girlfriend and I were invited to a dinner party last weekend and were told to bring dessert. We decided to make Oreo Truffles. This recipe is really easy.
Ingredients:
- 1 box/package or Oreos
- 1 cup of cream cheese (Philadelphia)
- 1 cup/package of semi-sweet chocolate (I used Baker's brand)
In a food processor, crush 40 Oreos. If you don't have a food processor, you can put them in a bag and smash them with a hammer/rolling pin. Scoop out about half a cup which will be used later for the topping. Add 1 cup of cream cheese remaining crushed cookies and mix until well blended. Roll the cookie mixture into small balls. You should be able to make about 40. Place them on a cookie sheet/plate and put them in the fridge for 15-20 minutes to solidify a little.
In the meantime, you can begin to melt the chocolate. I placed all the chocolate in a pot and melted it on low heat. Pick up a ball with a fork (no stab) and drizzle some melted chocolate on it with a spoon. Before the chocolate hardens, sprinkle some of the crushed cookies you set aside earlier. You might want to place them on wax paper so they don't stick.
They're very rich!
