CHIPOTLE IS OWNED BY MCDONALDS!!!!! they get their meat from the same places that ship their dirty infected cattle and chicken that ends up in your double cheeseburger, the infamous ConAgra meat
most real mexican resturants get their meat locally and of better quality. san diego has some REALLY good mexican food i was suprised. san francisco has really good local spots, if your in the city you gotta try Gordos, or Pancho Villa in the mission, or any spot in the Mission they are all pretty bomb

haha yea true. i had some of the best mini tacos there at some really small resturant.
i noticed when i first ate a chipotle burrito, was that the RICE SUCKED. it was nowhere near real mexican rice. it was starch white with some crappy little green leaves they threw in there. the meat was pretty bad, way too overspiced and not in a good way. it just tasted very processed, which it is basically.

No Chipotle in Michigan? Are you sure? The last one I saw was ... maybe in North Olmsted, Ohio. Dunno. Aren't we supposed to get one here in Rochester Hills along Rochester Road?
McD's said today that they plan an IPO for Chipotle.
chipotle.com navigation sucks. The website tries to get you to "download pdf" too. Too much flash and dash ... just find me a restaurant locator! stupid site.

Chipotle being the bomb? I'm wondering how many of you guys saying that are actually mexican or atleast part?
The only time I ate there was when I had free coupons to go there, and everything there was super processed, it felt like an upgraded tacobell.
Baja Fresh is a little better, but still way too Americanized for me. My preference here in the bay area is the mission district or any of those ghetto ass taco trucks floating around, the taco truck in the Goodwill parking lot in Fruitvale is off the hook as well. San Diego has some bomb ass mexican food, I love Lolitas
But perhaps this is all just the beaner in me talking, I'll go let you folks enjoy your tacobell now

^^ I have yet to try Gordos, unfortunately I live in a town where no taco trucks exist and the closest thing we have to getting a burrito is from El Balazo (think white suburbia) I will add that to my list of things to do though!
edit: I just noticed there's one in Berkeley, so next time I go get pierced or tattooed I'll have to hit it up.

DUDE!!!
YOU LIVE IN CHICAGO
GO GET A REAL BURRITO!
like "el famous", "taco burrito king" I could keep going on and on...
Why oh why do you like the Mc Donalds mexican food? Not to mention it's mainly rice.
So sad...
Sorry Baja Fresh and Chilpolte are totally schooled by the two I mentioned above.

I can't tell you how often I stop when I see a truck on the side of the road, the majority of the time they are fresh and excellent w/ no lard in the beans or grease. But then again, i'm one of those people that eats off the corner stands in Mexico

I think it's funny to see people get all whipped up about burrito's...
I don't think anyone was saying that Chipotle was great AUTHENTIC mexican food, they are just saying that they enjoy their burritos, to which I agree
I live in MN where great burrito joints are not in abundance and have thus, taken quite a liking to Chipotle. I know it's not authentic and it's Americanized, but hey, I'm american and like american food, so that probably explains my fondness for it...
I have tried a few of the so-called REAL mexican places around here, and to me personally, I think their burrito's taste like ass...
When I'm in Mexico, I do enjoy a good authentic burrito and a Sol, or some fresh taco's, not to mention this burrito I had in Wrigleyville (Chicago) at 5am about two months ago that was hand's down better then Chipotle (I was drunk off my ass, don't remember the name).
We all know Chipotle isn't authentic, and we know that a better burrito MUST exist somewhere, but please, let me enjoy my steak, rice, black beans, mild salsa, medium (corn) salsa, sour cream, cheese and lettuce wrapped in a nice warm tortilla for $5.95...
kthxbye

Stalker.
I don't get the full on loaded burrito. Normally I'll get the burrito bowl, no rice, pinto beans, chicken, mild and medium corn salsas, and lettuce. Really isn't that bad for you at all. Stay away from the tortilla, cheese, and sour cream and the calories don't pile on.
