Xbox Live DNS Server Problem
I have had Xbox Live for about 4 months and all of a sudden, it's not working. Everytime I try to log into Live, it keeps saying
"No DNS Server addresses were recieved from the DHCP or PPPoE server. Enter the DNS Server(s) provided by your ISP in the Network Settings menu. See www.xbox.com/connect for more infomation".
Now before I call Verizon, I want to make sure theres nothing wrong with network or anything. It's a direct connection from modem to the Xbox using the ethernet cables that Verizon provided me. This has never happened before and I did not set anything different. I know everything is set to automatic so can you guys help me?!

got this info from:

Why turning your modem off for several minutes and then turning it back on (power cycling) fixes the "DNS Not Resolved" problem
Some modems are configured to "remember" the media access control (MAC) address of the device that is connecting through them. By power cycling the modem, it "forgets" about your PC and lets your Xbox through. This behavior typically occurs when ISPs allow customers to connect with only one network device at a time.
You can also try mac spoofing if power cycling the modem does not fix the error.
If these two solutions do not resolve the issue, you may want to ask your ISP what options they offer for connecting multiple devices at the same time.
