Picked up a copy this morning.

And the target near got like 30-40 wiis in stock...they had been sold out for months. I was shocked they got so many.

 

I went to 4 stores here in London and they were all s Gold out...Then I went to a place that buys and sells games / hardware / Games, etc and found a day old used copy...The employees were shocked, they didn't know they had it and were pissed I got it. Its for my son's bday which is next week, but I tested it out and man, its cool. Now Im trying to get a second wheel, which is also sold out...

 

Fiancee is playing it now...maybe I should have gotten a second wheel...even though you dont really need it.

 

With GTA IV coming out Tuesday, I know I won't have time to play Mario Kart Wii for a few weeks, so might as well delay the purchase till then

You don't need the wheel, its just a shell to put the remote in...But it makes driving easier...

 

Yeah makes it a little easier, specially access to the B button. Its a novelty, but a nice one.

You can actually use any of the controllers, wiimote, classic, gcube.

 

I like the uses f other control, but driving with the wi mote is way too fun.

The wheel is nice, but i rather not spend the 15 bucks on 3 others, when i might only use it here and there.

Just played at a friends house to 4 people...He had 2 controls and two steering wheels, I had 2 controls and 1 wheel.

Turns out the wheel really makes a difference. Will most likely pick a 2nd one up since the fiancee really like playing, too.

How's the wiimote/nunchuk combo work in comparison to the wheel or wiimote alone? I'm pretty sold on that since I don't feel like dishing out for cheap plastic wheels when I got nunchucks already.

The game comes with one wheel.

Or you can use the wiimote like the wheel, but without the wheel...get it? But the wheel actually makes a difference.

And imo...its the only to play the game. The other controller options just make you ask...why other, its not what the wii was made for.

 

Amazon had them for $10 yesterday.

 

they're not selling too hot in my area, i went to walmart,k-mart and they had them in full stock around 5pm yesterday. i went to the mall (which is a huge mall) and they had about 8 copies there. just like bioshock chose a wrong release date, so did mario kart.

I bought 3 extra wheels from TRU, $9.99 + tax yesterday.

Amazon had it for 9.99 without tax..

But I was able to get Mario Kart for 43.99 (47 after tax) at Costco!

I hear they had the wheels at Wal-mart for cheap ... I know it's the bane of society, but if it's cheap and in stock ... I don't mind going there once in a while ...

wiis aren't that hard to find anymore... i just picked up one. went to the first gamestop and purchased the last one

 

^ You should try the wheel, its take just a bit to get used to it, but its fun. If you play online, youll see that the majority of the people play with the wheel.

 

A friend brought this over twice in the last week, does it get progressively more fun/fast? Can you get bigger carts then 150cc? it was fun to play for a few hours with some friends, but I felt myself getting bored.

 

Bought it friday and I love it. Sooo much fun to play.

 

Finally played it. Went through 2 cups. Def a fun game. I'm playing others now so I'll pick this up when the price drops.

 

I demo'ed it ... very much like the other Mario Kart programs on the other consoles. So ... for me.

 

i just played it after work at co-workers house today.......if you turn the wheel too much the kart goes the other way.
but i may pick this game up next week.

Yea you can play it with out the wheel. Also 3 other controls. Game cube classic and wii mote and knun chuck

 

So far, I'm playing the 50cc cup challenges ... no wheel. Seems pretty easy to play without. But I think I'll have to invest in a pair of wheels since it might help out on the more difficult boards ...

 

Some of those boards are tough....

 

anyone try playing online yet? just curious as to how different it is? a co-worker happened to mention it's more fun?!?

 

I love playing online! It's fun and I haven't had any issues.
