Doubt it. :2cents:

Upped graphics. And maybe some crazy interface/integration with social networking which I could give a rats behind about.

Yumcha 02-04-2013 03:00 PM

If I'm buying it, I'm buying it strictly for the upped graphics.

Could care less about how people get to see the final 5 minutes of how I finished a game and etc. (read about this rumored functionality somewhere recently).

Yeah, I am. What are you implying?

What else can this console do?

I doubt it will microwave my frozen TV dinner or clean my bathtub for me. Other than some upped graphics capacity and maybe more integration with social networking, what else do you possibly think a new console can do?

What is the Wii U doing "new"...?

srika 02-04-2013 03:19 PM

I'm implying that you are kissing Sony's butt 100% of the time so your post confused me. :snicker: Guess it's more like 99%.

More in mockery of the Apple-butt-kiss going around here. ;)

I like Sony stuff, sure. But, there is no way I will buy a Sony product for the sake of the fact it has their logo on it. :2cents:

I have a Sony-money-lossing-"fail" in the Vita because I liked what it offered and suited a want (I travel for work often).

srika 02-04-2013 03:26 PM

I've definitely seen 'those' posts before but I truly did think you were a Sony buttboy.

:chuckle:

Ah.

I refuse to line up overnight for anything and/or hang on the every word of a smelly, dead-beat father-type, park-in-handicap-zone jerk. Even if there was a guy like that at Sony. :O

But, snarking aside, I think you catch my drift. In all seriousness, I think Sony will be disappointed with the outcome of the PS4...Then again, if what I said about how people can easily spend $$$ on a glorified web-surfer and/or new cellphone once a year...well, they can in theory (THEORY), ante up for a new console.

I just hope Sony isn't thinking like that...cuz, they don't have Apple's marketable reputation.

Yumcha 02-04-2013 03:37 PM

But, based strictly on what an upped processor, graphics can do...if they can make a game like MGS or the Gran Turismo series even prettier and realistic...? I'm sold.

Mind you, I do disagree somewhat with your comments about tablets and phones. One is a glorified web-surfer and the other is a mobile phone. If people think they are great, that is their prerogative...but, to me, they will never replace a good computer. They are not PC replacements...at least not yet.

And despite the pricepoint, people still shell out for a "new" minty upped version of the web-surfer and cellphone whenever a hyped-up reveal comes about once a year.

So, go figure. I'll say this: If Apple sold consoles, they would have no issues making sales even if they released a new gen every 6 months. Sony? They don't have that sort of market clout unfortunately.

You are the exception to the rule.
The tablet has become king. Just look at the falling sales of pc's.

Hopefully Sony did some serious market research outside of Japan....otherwise this could be the final nail in the coffin for Sony.

Doom878 02-05-2013 06:56 AM

They better come with something serious if they want my money again. I've had PS1 to 3 but I'm so leaning to XBox this time around.

You may love playing on keyboard and mouse and of course that's fine.

you know if you try using a tv tray or something simular it would make it a lot easier to use a keyboard mouse in front of the tv. :2cents:

srika 02-06-2013 10:20 AM

sitting in front of a TV with a tray is not my idea of relaxation..... I would never do that.

You don't need a keyboard/mouse except to launch games and whatnot, but for playability http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/en...indows#details.

Hell, for that matter, you could probably get a bluetooth dongle for your pc and use a PS3 controller, if you have one.

srika 02-06-2013 12:48 PM

My objective is to relax with a controller while playing on the TV in the living room. That objective is met with the PS3. Not worth the hassle (to me) of setting up a PC in the living room and configuring it with a wireless controller just for the graphics. That is where the PS4 will come in! :wish:

That is laughable because you have stated so in this forum before. You bought a Sony camera because it was Sony and you have a Sony VISA card. And you brainwashed your family with Sony, that they have paid much more for a Sony TV than another brand because it is Sony.

srika 02-06-2013 03:52 PM

yeah, I seem to recall that being the case as well. Hence my

srika 02-07-2013 07:39 PM

bunch of sources reported today that the PS4 will cost between $400-500.

Doom878 02-08-2013 07:12 AM

seems about right. not sure if they'll announce pricing so soon though.

Doom878 02-20-2013 02:50 PM

Announcements at 6PM EST. Any predictions?

Moog-Type-S 02-20-2013 04:10 PM

I'm gonna guess that Sony is going to show the PS4

or

Announce they are going to file for bankruptcy.

Either one should be a good show!

srika 02-20-2013 04:12 PM

watch it here

TSXy Luster 02-20-2013 04:54 PM

Let's do this!

srika 02-20-2013 05:17 PM

uh yeah, I'm buying one.

lol

srika 02-20-2013 05:32 PM

I think the most important piece of info so far is that they are building a new network!

Moog-Type-S 02-20-2013 05:36 PM

^^ Will this one be easily hacked as well?

srika 02-20-2013 05:50 PM

:excited:

Moog-Type-S 02-20-2013 05:51 PM

Will the new network have this much live stream lag too?

:whyme:

srika 02-20-2013 05:58 PM

oh sh*t new racing game! you have my attention!!!!!!!!!

it's called Driveclub

asianspec 02-20-2013 06:09 PM

Infamous second son looks pretty good

vybzkartel 02-20-2013 06:24 PM

WTF, no pics yet?!

Moog-Type-S 02-20-2013 06:31 PM

Word is they won't show the console or state the price until the end of the presentation

Mizouse 02-20-2013 06:37 PM

429 529

asianspec 02-20-2013 06:40 PM

fuck the lagging is getting unbearable.

asianspec 02-20-2013 06:43 PM

yea its lagging bad both small screen and full screen. Plus it doesn't seem to making a difference changing the resolution.

Moog-Type-S 02-20-2013 06:48 PM

....this is one press event that is dragging on far too long without a glimpse of the product.

asianspec 02-20-2013 07:00 PM

Man I thought they were going to say halo was going to be offered on ps4 when bungee came out

mdkxtreme 02-20-2013 07:05 PM

Did we got trolled?

asianspec 02-20-2013 07:06 PM

i think so.

AZuser 02-20-2013 07:32 PM

During today's PlayStation event Gaikai's Dave Perry revealed that the PS4 will not natively support PS3 games and that Sony's next-gen console will instead stream PS1, PS2 and PS3 games from the cloud -- something that the company has already confirmed on Twitter.
