It's not in mass production, but Intel has samples of their chips running on the .65 process.
The core chip of the Cell is a Power-PC PPU. The PowerPC processor has had a very difficult time ramping up in clock speed (look at the G5 for the past few years) and it would require a significant redesign to achieve speeds well above the 4ghz mark, regardless if it's a .90 or .65 chip.

The main core of cell is BASED off ibm's latest powerpc chip found in the g5 macs. it is not the same core. They stripped out parts they didnt need and gee, they can get it to run at 3.2ghz while the fatest shipping macs are just starting to ship at 2.5ghz. So it has been significantly redesigned in order to fit it to cells needs. To say that just because the g5's cant hit 4ghz means that cell cant is pretty silly. And saying that 65nm intel cpu's cant hit above 3.6ghz is utterly absurd when only engineering samples of 65nm cpu's exist at this point. And since you completely missed the point of my last post, the manufacturing process is not necessarily the limiting factor in clockspeed. architecture plays a just as important, if not a bigger role in limiting clock speed of a core.

really.. i dunno how itd work unless they include the old plugs for the DS2 controller, OHH now i know why they're changing the controller wasnt Sony sued by some company for using their game vibration technology or something?

btw there is some new evidence that the PS2's DS2 controller will be compatible (somehow) with the PS3... good news.

look at the removable media options on PS3. Compact Flash compatibility on a Sony device? Who would have ever thought. Ridiculous. SD? Memory Stick? The specs on the damn thing read like the specs of a myriad of various electronic devices. 6 USB 2.0 ports? 2 HDMI outputs that can be run simultaneously? wtf this thing is not a gaming machine, its like, Godzirra. Part XXIII2.
All of those options and hardware specs are all fine and dandy to look at - but the reason I think the PS3 is going to ultimately win the battle is because of its game media format. Blu-Ray. We are talking about 54gb vs 9gb. I think ultimately the 9gb will become a limitation for Xbox 360. If any developer is able to max out the 54gb on a Blu-Ray disc for PS3, they are insane. But what it means is, developers will not have any restraints or limitations with the PS3. With the Xbox, they will have to keep that 9gb in the back of their heads and develop thereof.

Anybody who is following the progress of PS3 or Xbox 360 at this juncture in the game are almost certainly fanboys, already. The non-gamers who have Xbox are not going to be reading this thread...
But JUST to entertain your request, I think it's great that PS3 comes with built-in Wi-fi and Bluetooth, as daily life seems to gravitate steadily towards a wireless frontier.

Still, either way, good time to be a gamer. I personally plan on getting an XBox 360 (more my style of games). I think the real winner in this battle will be the one with the best games. Just look at the PS2 and XBox battle. PS2 came out earlier AND had a better selection of games, even with inferior hardware.
Still, with my new HDTV and XBox 360 purchase this fall, I may not post for a while.
I'm REALLY interested in finally getting "free" MSAA from the ATi chip in the new XBox. That will be a blessing. Plus the "mandatory" 720p or above request from MS is also good.
