Another credit card I have, which may or may not have been used on PSN at one point, got charged with over $250 worth of iTunes and Xbox subs two weeks ago, and got denied on another large purchase.

I have not been affected, though I believe an older card was used for PSN purchases.
A friend of mine was charged over $700 for Amazon purchases he didnt make. His bank is doing an investigation. I hope the idiot listed their actual home address!

Fixed.
Thanks to Sony's poor planning, the PSN is down for almost a month with no up date in sight. Everyone has had enough personal info taken to get all kinds of fake CCs set up in their name. Many people have had their actual CC info taken. There's not one aspect of this that doesn't scream cluster. But hey, we're going to get a free month of PS+...

^It's worthless. Several of my friends had/have it, and most let it drop after whatever initial time period they had it for expired. If you're REALLY into games and do nothing except play them 24/7, then you might find some value in it; otherwise, no. I'd rather have the value of a month of PS+ added to my wallet.

The only perks of PS+ is that you get to play some demos early, get free PSN games that are normally like $5, a free cloud, and I think they let you play a game for free but if you cancel your + you lose it.

for cheap fun, get MW2.
between Black ops and BC2..
BC2 all day...
you should also get acquainted with Battlefields gameplay.. b/c Battlefield 3 is gonna eclipse all FPS when it drops next Dec./Jan
just watch some gameplay videos on youtube and decide for yourself.
CoD is basically ground/foot battles in smaller more compact maps. but still very fun. kill streaks are always a plus.
Battlefield has mutliple vehicles so there is more to it than just walking around and looking out for people. there are no killstreaks, but you are allowed to drive/pilot the tanks/ helicopters at any time.
i enjoy both for different reasons..

It'd be awesome if Sony paid for us to be able to monitor all this for at least the next couple years.

its coming back!!!!
Ladies and gentlemen, your PS3 may technically be able to connect to PlayStation Network now, but we're not through the woods yet -- today, Sony is issuing a mandatory System Update (v3.61) which will prepare your game machine for that magical day when the company actually throws the switch. In the meanwhile, Sony says the update will prompt you to change your PlayStation Network password, which will likely rank among the easiest decisions that you've ever made.
Update: Sony's just announced that a "phased restoration" of PlayStation Network and Qriocity is beginning today, and that online gaming, Music Unlimited, Netflix, Hulu, Vudu and MLB.TV should rolling out right now in Europe and North America. Watch cool cat Kaz Hirai deliver the good news in a video after the break.
Update 2: Sony's got a map of the US up, and will be lighting up individual states -- check out our more coverage link to get a rough idea of when you'll be able to play. The company also says it plans to have PlayStation Network fully functional by the end of May. PR after the break.
Update 3: The restoration is beginning now: we're seeing Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Vermont, Connecticut, New York and New Jersey.

Just got up. It seems secondary accounts aren't the same as the primary. Have to go through e-mail. It doesn't seem they've sent an e-mail to my e-mail, though . Funny thing is, all of those people with multiple accounts who set them up on bogus e-mails are SOL. There are a ton of them on the games I play.

Yo Sony I'm real happy we can all play our recycled FPSs again, but what about any real compensation for all the extra crap we have to go through now?

I don't expect compensation from Sony to be honest, it would be different if I were a PS+ customer.
#2956
However if these lawsuits don't get thrown out I guess we can all kiss that idea goodbye

there's been times where I've thought, I'd rather be at home, playing COD. LOL. It's too hot here and shooting a wedding in such a locale outside is SO DRAINING.
it was yesterday and today my entire body feels like it was run over by a truck.
I think I need a massage.
