Someone help me get this ms-dos game to work

I downloaded "The secret island of dr. quandry" that I used to play when I was little. But it has trouble running in XP. I checked my autoexec.nt file for consistency and it was fine. The game seems to run fine, but the resolution seems to be out of whack cause parts of the screen look cut off and the sound is non-existent. I did some reading on troubleshooting, but nothing worked.

Any ideas?

Click on the shortcut and go to properties, then check out compatibility mode...

Why not load win95 or 98 as a second OS and give it a small space in your HD just enough to play the game...

but i wonder if that would even work... you don't loose anything for trying...

Forgot to mention... you can also use a virtual computer program which emulates a computer on your computer... load the game to the VC and you are done...

I'll have to check where you can get VC freeware...

Dosbox should work.
I've used it for old stuff like Fool's Errand, and command and conquer.

Yeah, I downloaded it. I'll have to play around with it. On the topic of ms-dos games, anyone have any recommendations? I know of Oregon Trail and Dr. Quandary of course.
