Yeah, I noticed I was lagging and ted noticed it as well later on.

I didn't even believe it was possible to jam guns, I always thought it was lag that caused me not to shoot my gun...

Yea yea... but I got it brand new for $999. So I said what the hell. And I have a small living room, so it is perfect for the amount of space I have.

Yea, I don't know if there is jamming. I have never heard that confirmed from Sony or Zipper...

This shit def has some sort of handicapping
Yeah, I think there has to be something in effect because it seems that my gun jams more and it's harder to kill people (I'm hitting people about 8 times to kill them now where before it seemed like 3-4).

Although one thing that throws that theory away is that last night when we were playing vigilance where steve and I were left. He had sniped a couple of people from deep, and taunted "I bet you're asking where's the sniper?" A few seconds after that I sniped him in 1-2 shots with the machine gun...so I if there's a handicap or not.

But as for Phil, he was doing well last night, he was getting a high kill count in a couple of the maps, so maybe his aim is back?

see what was the thing... Phil did well lats night when he had his butter stick.

as soon as he went up to ensign... he did awful again.

ya you had a couple m60 snipes on sandstorm last night.

but nothing like that first time we played blizzard.... you were hitting me from barely visible distance away and killing me before id have chance to know i was getting shot at... your rank was 300+ at the time.

now your under 100k and you seem to work as hard at getting a kill as i do

Yea, it has happened to me, I just chalked it up to being a glitch though. I do wonder if it is intentional or not.

Heh, I've developed the problems where either the R3 or L3 are being pressed when I'm in a gunfight, so half of the time, I'm fighting through the scores screen, it's friggen annoying.

I'm surprised they won't allow you to configure the controller the way you want it set, instead of 4 different presets

yea controller presets are ghey.

and i dont understand why the first time you play it asks you to choose from 1 of 2 presets... rather then asking u to select from all 4... or just sticking u with a default.

its retarded

also, there is alot of configuration when it comes to controls... look speed. strafe speed... etc...

it took me along time to find the perfect config and im still not sure its there. i need to make mine a lil bit faster... but not much or ill throw off my shot.

ive always thought that too.....

but the fact that i seem to jam more when im in a game full of noobs..... or that noobs seem to have a much better shot then they should... or then they do once they get their rank up.

just doesnt make sense.

either way the playing field always seems pretty level in this game. which is cool... could just be a well balanced game. but i really think they have some sort of handicapping built in

It's one of those things you can configure I think? where you can set it to seal, custom, etc..the last one.

i just read on ps2 board that Voice Modulation reduces lag... its a form of compression.

if everyone in the game uses it... less lag.

How much bandwidth could that save? And why can't they use a compression technology on your normal voice?

well they do ims ure... the modulation is probably just a greater form of compression.

and im sure ALOT of bandwidth. in fact id think that the voice chat is probably the single greatest bandwidth hog in the game...

anyway....... TED:
If you have the dead zone all the way down, your guy might move by himself because your stick will probably NOT be in the exact center. So you adjust the dead zone up untill it doesnt move by itself. It adds some dead zone to the stick so its not so senstive. If you have it all the way up, I dont know I never tried it, but, I guess you would be able to move your stick alot before your player would move.

Dead Zone is like how much play you give the analog stick before it reacts. Or like the sensitivity of the analog stick. Example. If I set the dead zone all the way to the left. Any little movement of the sticks will cause the player to move. Increase it and the and you will have to increase the amount of movement on the stick to get the player to move. Another example. My L3 sticks to the left just a little sometimes. So when I had my dead zone set to zero(all the way left) After I would get done running somewhere and take my thumb off the L3 my guy would slowly move left. This has caused to die a couple of times due to falling off of things. To counter this I increased my Dead Zone(move to the right) till my guy did not respond to the constant left signal. In a sense I decreased the sensitivity of the L3.
glad i looked this up.

ive been sniped a thousand times cuz my guy starts strafing on his own when im trying to hide in bushes. retarded

Look Speed is how fast(topspeed) you can look.
Accelaration is how long it takes for you to reach Look Speed(top speed)

Here we go again for eveyone who does not understand it......

1) Lookspeed is how fast your player can turn around....look up and down ect. (Not how fast they run)

In car terms it's your top speed of your car. Lets say all the way to the right = 100 mph.

If you put it in the center your top speed would be 50 mph. and so on.

2) Acceleration is the time in millisecconds it takes to get to the lookspeed setting.

This one is like torque. The more to the right you put it, the quicker you will reach lookspeed.

If you have this one all the way to the left and lookspeed all the way to the right it starts out slow and then starts to turn quickly. If you have the acc. more to the right it is harder to keep steady.

3) Dead zoneis tp help if your player starts to move without your hands on the thumb sticks. You need to move it to the left it your player is creaping. You could move it to the right if it's not but don't go too far.
