PS4, PS3, XBOXOne, XB360, WiiU: LEGO Dimensions
Ive been interested this one and picked it up today.
Ive never been sure how the whole toy/game genre works...but this is a pretty savvy implementation, and if you are familiar with past LEGO games they are pretty smart, fun, and funny.
I picked up the PS4 version and the graphics are outstanding. And I like how actually building the LEGO pieces, including the "portal" is part of the game. And you constantly use the portal in the actual gameplay.
I decided to include my kids in this one, to help me build and let them watch since there are a lot of cutscenes...and they were totally sucked in to it.
Overall, real fun...cant wait to get some of the expansion packs, ghostbusters and BTTF to start.

And it uses LEGO toys (made for this game at an additional cost) to be used in the actual gameplay. It comes with 3 mini figures and a vehicle. You can buy additional ones. Some open up new levels.
Its like Skylanders or Disney Infinity or Wii U Amiibo. But I never played those so I dont if the toy part is as interactive as LEGO...certainly not a from a "you have to build it" stand point...but you also use the portal and the pieces a lot. You dont just stick them on and call it a day.

Cool maybe I'll have them check it out. I'm not a fan of the Amiibo, Infinity collectibles because that's more clutter in their room and lord knows they have enough Barbies and Disney dolls.

nice thing about this is they are still LEGOs...you still build them and play with them.
