Sorry for jumping in here and asking a stupid question on page 79 but if I understand it right there's no way to drive Nordschliefe or the Top Gear track until they're unlocked via some sort of magical combination of events in the game?

I should have known better if that's true because the main reason I wanted the game was to drive those two tracks (for obvious reasons).

The top gear and Mercedes challenges in the Special Events. There is more specific info on where you need to place to unlock them, but It's probably just best to try for gold as it's one of the easiest ways to get xp and credits.

You can unlock them within an hour or two of playing. The events are easy

ehh not to unlock nurburgring. that one you need to finish the entire amg mercedes one. and to do that you'll need to get up to a higher level to finish it.

the top gear track is unlocked by getting gold in the samba challege.

I think that's just marketing. This patch is the one that applied it & since it was downloaded, I'd reckon you'd have to download 1.06 to have the current xp/reward system removed, as they're not online based.

something may have changed with the update - I just downloaded it and then I stared GT5 and it says I have Nordschleife unlocked in Arcade and GT mode. or some other mode. And I haven't played since last week. (???)

I have a noob community question, I went in there and trying to setup a private game, and I don't see anywhere to do New Game or whatever to set it up.. how in the heck do you do it? And, does anyone wanna play?

I think the money boost is only on some tracks. The high speed ring now gets me 50 some k credits instead of 30ish, but the supercar Daytona challenge in professional only gives about 3k more than it did before.

I just ran Nordschliefe in Professional Series GT World Champ and got 26k for 1st. I think it used to be 18k. Gonna try Daytona now.

how do you guys do Like the Wind with the Furai?? I was going faster in the ZR1. I have the trans set to 236mph, is that too high? cuz its only hitting about 205

PD unlocked it. Originally, you had to Gold all the Intermediate (or Advance?) challenges in the Merc. Special Events to unlock the 24H Configuration. A lot fans thought they were missing out on a great track, so they unlocked it and now you get a 190E Evo II for Silver & a CLK GTR for Gold.

There's no way I'm going to unlock the TG track if I have to hit Gold with those stupid VW buses ... I'm terrible at this game with the controller (no steering wheel).

i did it with a controller, its not as bad as it seems when you first start doing it.

look at youtube videos for hints.

one thing that helped me was to let off the gas while cornering.

So you can join people's races from the community page in game, didn't know that. Makes it a lot better. Karting now

Just did the GTR 1mil cr. Seasonal race. I had to buy a second GT-R for the race as mine had to much HP. Now I don't need. Anyone want it?

im cussing at my TV trying to win this g&damn advanced go-kart race at autumn ring mini.... got 119k for the first race. this is so damn stupid, the way it loses control unexpectedly

Yeah, that track is not kind to the karts.

Just stay on the throttle the whole time. Anytime you have to brake, 50% the throttle, feather the brake, keep the steering smooth.

It took me a few tries, esp. with the AI.

got it. the ultimate trick for me was to not hit any of the rumble strips - thats what was really messing me up.

I'll take it if you don't mind. I'm about to do that race as well. I tried it with a tuned R32 but It's still like 8 seconds too slow

Sent. Keep your lap times 1:28ish and you'll win easy.

yea those things really mess me up, also braking too hard will spin you out.

it took me probably an hour to gold that one.

btw you can draft in that challenge

it'll bring your kart up to 84-5ish mph
