PS3, 360, Wii: Guitar Hero - Metallica

I'm semi-excited for this game as it won't be a big smorgasboard like Rock Band and Aerosmith didn't get the best reviews. But Metallica songs are great challenges as most of you know. Here are some details from its wiki. The great news is that it is a band game!!!! Coming 1st quarter but I've been reading March unless it gets pushed.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guitar_Hero_Metallica

Also available for PS2 if a mod can add that

I wonder if GH is coming out with a double pedal. Does the World Tour one support it?

lol.... I never actually met the guys but a friend of mine did at a Rasputin and he said Lars was really really nice. Probably trying to make up for looking like a straight up douche for the whole Napster thing. Still I don't know if its fair to judge them just on one incident like that, I think the bigger atrocity was the St. Anger album. They do have plenty of money already though....

This sucks because I've always wanted to play Master of Puppets, No Excuses and Sad but True on RB. The other songs are just okay or too slow.

And Kanye West on the other hand..... I'm sorry but its been more than just one occasion, he's just a little bitch. I still do enjoy his music though

After playing world tour a 2nd time...GH just doesnt come close to RB. The drum kick is completely inferior.

The Guitars are better. I still use the GH guitars on RB, thats it.

Everyone even comments on the track list not being as good as RB2.

cool, I was wondering about... if GH guitars work on RB... now I can just buy a (used) copy of RB w/o the gear.

All the instruments work from World Tour and Rock Band 2 work on each other's systems. Check circuitycity.com for some cheap instruments, is300eater.

No wonder I've seen World Tour for as low as $20 at Micro Center. Of course it gets sold out fast. I don't see why Activision doesn't add the patch for the export feature like RB. It's part of the reason why I haven't bothered picking up GHWT or Aerosmith. I might not even pick up Metallica anytime soon.

I played GH3 again and since I'm used to RB, the note chart was pissing me off. I did try the GHWT guitar and that thing was >>>>> than my Nyko. The strum is way too loose on the Nykos. No wonder I can't hit all the notes on hard for Eye of the Tiger. The constant strum is a PITA for the cheap guitars.

i have every album from Metallica and i think their new one Death Magnetic is possibly the best. St. Anger was by far the worst.

lol at Lars, he is always looking for a fight.

i am a big Metallica fan i i think i might look into this if they ever make a PC version of this stuff which will prob never happen.

Like I said in another post, I knew about that CC closing pretty quick since we service several of their building loans. I don't understand why'd they shut down the website. It'd make it easier to move their shit.

I'm not a big Metallica fan but I like their popular stuff. Are you serious though that of all their classic albums you think the newest is the best?

I actually really like Death Magnetic, probably one of my favorite albums ever. My favorite Metallica album would probably have to be And Justice for All. One thing that bothers me about Death Magnetic is that the production just seems off... I looked into it a bit more and apparently the songs are a bit compressed. The songs are still great though.

I rented this yesterday. I was playing drums on hard and only had time to do the popular songs like Enter Sandman, One, Unforgiven, Wherever I May Roam, Master of Puppets, Nothing Else Matters and it was pretty fucking fun. Easy but I don't think those are hard drumming songs. I'll move up to expert on those. I tried Battery to compare to Rock Band and it's tiered very differently. I failed on hard where I can pass it in Rock Band.

preordered this for my gf, it came witha free second kickpedal for preordering. I sat through 6 hours of it last night between her and my son, but I didnt mind too much, because I actually like just about all the music on it. She plays on the hard and expert levels on the other gh games, the song Frantic on hard just about caused her to pass out, she was sweating and everything. LOL. You guys should watch the some kind of monster documentary about the making of St. Anger. While Lars is indeed a Dick, the napster thing kinda spiraled out of control for him. He is a bigger Dick concerning Hetfields rehab. Acted like he could care less whether hetfield got clean and straightened himself out.

played the Demo a few days ago; quite impressed. Couldn't play the songs as well as I could because of this dumb finger injury. I didn't get GH:Aerosmith because it just seemed like half of game for full price, but may consider this once I get this splint off in a few months.

I was up till 4am last night playing this. As a Guitar Hero fan, and as a huge Metallica fan, it just doesn't get much better than this. I can't speak on the drums aspect though, since I only have the guitar. I wish the GH franchise sold the drum kit seperately.

Quick someone try War Ensemble by Slayer on expert drums. LOL I did practice mode and got like 50%. It's insane!!

I'm all over the place with some of these songs. I did Wherever I May Roam on Expert+ with one kick pedal at like 91% but can't pass 40% of Battery on hard which I beat on hard in RB2.

The 2nd kick pedal from what I'm reading only works when the other pedal is fully released assuming you're using GH drums. You guys can buy RB1 drums for like $30 instead of paying $100 for the GH ones. I think the RB2 which is wireless is like $70.

They were right. These just came out like a month ago for separate purchase. I saw somewhere on slickdeals that they were down to $60 on sale.

I rented this game from Blockbuster today. And all I have to say so far is

MUCH, MUCH better than GH:Aerosmith. I can't play above hard now because of my finger injury, but once I get this splint off, I'm probably going to buy this game. Unlike GH:Aerosmith, I think this is worth the $59.99 price tag.

I usually play the guitar, but I just got finished playing "One" on Drums on Hard. Mad fun. The only thing I noticed is that the rock band drum set seems to have a slight delay in the kick pedal. I haven't used the drum set in a while though so maybe its MY timing that is off.

I think the kick is slightly off. I think it depends on the timing on when to hit the kick as the note charts are 3D so it kind of messes with your eyes. I returned this on Friday and continued playing the Metallica that I have on RB. I promptly 5 starred And Justice For All on my first Expert run.

the funny thing is... (and kinda sad if true), this game will most likely out sell "Death Magnet"

(GH: Aerosmith out sold their latest album)

You can't say it's a knock to outsell the CD. CD's are easily downloadable legally and illegally but games not so much. A lot of people are afraid or don't know how to mod their system. Plus Rock Band has sold 40 million songs for download.

damn, I beat all the songs and the 30 or so downloaded I have on RB on expert. The only reason I haven't downloaded the Metallica songs is because I saw the note tracks on Youtube, and it looks like my streak would be broken if I were to get those.

How hard are the Metallica songs on Rock band? Seems pretty damned impossible on Expert.

If you can beat the Impossible songs on expert like Panic Attack, Shoulder to the Plow, Everlong, Teenage Riot, etc then you shouldn't have a problem with And Justice and Ride the Lightning. Blackened is hard as shit but nobody has posted that it's harder than Panic Attack. Also I tend to play on hard for those songs so And Justice is overtiered since I beat it on expert sightread.

Honestly the popular Metallica songs like Enter Sandman, Wherever I May Roam, Unforgiven are pretty easy on expert. I was 5 starring them no problem. It's the old Metallica that gets hard. I couldn't even get out of the first minute for Fight Fire With Fire or Dyers Eve on hard.
