LEGO Series. StarWars, Batman, Indiana Jones and now Harry Potter

i didnt see a thread for the LEGO games. so maybe discuss them all in here.

i know most view these as a "childs game" but i've always been a star wars fan and thats what got me started playing them.
but its actually been a great way for me and the lady to play something together that she can follow easily.

i've owned every title up until this point and played the Harry Potter demo yesterday which made me want to get everyone else's point of view.

harry potter was fun but they used the same "new" split-screen type that indiana jones 2 used.. (wasnt a fan)

discuss?

I have played the two StarWars and the first Indiana Jones games on the xbox, I enjoyed them. My son has played all of them of his Wii. It's the reason I bought for xbox. I'll get the Harry Potter game as well. They are fun games, who cares what age you are.

The also will have a StarWars CloneWars game soon.

and i've heard that but havent read anything official.. just chops of the what the cover MAY look like..

any links for me?

this is the order i would recommend them in.

1. Star Wars The Complete Saga (origianlly trilogy is included in this game)
2. LEGO Batman
3. LEGO Indiana Jones 1
4. LEGO Inidiana Jones 2. (bad split screen display)

clone wars will be at the top im sure if its anything like its previous games.

harry potter is interesting so far. i'll have to get used to traveling around with 4-5 characters at once all the time.

I love the LEGO games! I have LEGO Star Wars and Star Wars II for PS2, and LEGO Batman and Indiana Jones 1 (didn't know there was a 2) for PS3. I'll have to get Indiana Jones 2 and Harry Potter.

LEGO star wars definitely a fun and funny game to play. it's hilarious when you defeat a character and they break apart into bricks.

I was never into Star Wars that much, but the Xbox games were pretty damn cool.

Only LEGO game I've played was some lego racer for N64.

well after playing about half way through, i can say its tied for second place in the LEGO series with me...

star wars still trumps all..
and harry potter/batman take 2nd place.

well worth a play, even if you just rent it.

My kids love the Star Wars one. Just got them the Harry Potter one. They played it for several days straight. My son just informed me they beat all the levels, but still need to unlock some characters.
We have the Indy one also, but this seems to be the least popular. I'll have to check if the Batman one is available for the Wii.

edit: never mind, I guess they finshed Indy also. Will have to get Batman and Indy2 now.

after beating the game, the "free play" mode is what gets most of my playing time..

finding all the hidden pieces and unlocking all the characters is the most fun...

they made LEGO Universe, but only for PC

that game would be amazing on console... its a MMO with endless possibilities, and im pretty sure you can build your own pirate ship and wear pirate clothes...

Tried it but didn't seem like that much fun. It would have been nice if you had control of building the city up using either 1) actual LEGO sets or 2) custom LEGO sets that enthusiasts build in a designer program and then sell for credits through the game.

Basically just Simcity with the LEGO spin to it. Personally, I think it could have a lot of potential because it would apply to all ages, whereas, Simcity only applied to middle school and above.

I was just thinking of adding a dog or cat. With the cat, it would swipe at the little guys and as they were being whisked away, they would make screaming banshee sounds.

finally finished harry potter.. now i've finished all the games!

well except the first star wars, b/c its basically just the first half of the second game... i'll play it one day and drain some achievements from it though.

ps. if anybody ever wants to do Co-op im down, the games are much more enjoyable with 2 players... Gamertag is Tshirt Jujitsu

i'll be picking that up as well!

so far the 3rd star wars game is stacking up good!
i much prefer single player or Co-Op though XBL...

split screen is pretty bad since they are still using the shit system from the 2nd indiana jones/ harry potter...

HP is fun, but make sure you are aware of the software bugs or you could find yourself almost all the way to the end and unable to complete a couple of key items. That happened to me...my obsessive side wouldn't let it go, so I started again and managed to deal with the bugs appropriately.

Here's an example:
http://www.community.eu.playstation....s/m-p/11071882

If you look around at Gamespot, etc. where there are walk-thru's and such you'll several of them discussed. Frankly, I wouldn't let it deter you from getting the game. It really is a lot of fun. It's just a good idea to read up a little beforehand to know how to work around a couple of the game killers.

its not as severe as indiana jones 2.. but there are some parts on this game that probably should require a certain IQ...

i dont see how 2 kids could push though some of this without assistance..

i'll be humbled if someone's kids have... but some of the parts are not obvious at all..
i know if i played when i was younger, with less patience, i would never finish some of these games lol.

Does LEGO Star Wars III feel like just another episode of LEGO Star Wars, or does it feel like an improved game?

Are the graphics on PS3 much better than LEGO Star Wars on Wii?

there are some noteable differences.

they are using a new graphics engine so the smoothness is up a lot.

the way co-op and even single player are played very differently. at times you will be on entirely opposite sides of the level performing separate task for the main cause.

the difference in quality between ps3 an wii will be noticeable as usual..

my only complaint is how the split screen swivels.
