Guitar Hero 3
I had thought this would be the dumbest game ever, since it looks like a glorified DDR. One of my friends urged me to pick it up. Friday was my 30th birthday so I figured what the hell. Traded in a couple of crap games and picked it up for my PS3.
OMG I love this game. It's as addicting as crack. I can't stop jamming on it. Black Magic Woman, One, Welcome to the Jungle, I can't stop playing.
Soon I'll end up like the South Park kid.

Guitar hero is tons of fun, can't wait till Rock band comes out.
The songs also have 'free form' sections where you just jam out and play
anything you want. That'll be hilarious, can't wait to start flailing wildly on
the drums and scream 'ANIMAL!!!! ANIMAL!!!! ANIMAL!!!!!!!!'

A lot of song on medium are fucking impossible. I beat it on medium...but I cant master a lot of the songs. I have no dexterity.
I just bought the velvet revolver and foo fighters songs packs from xbox live last night.

But yeah, this game is real addicting. I downloaded the Demo about a week ago and played it for 4 hours straight knowing I had to go to work later that morning.
I also played it in the store with the guitar as well.
I haven't got it yet but I'm planning on getting it soon. I first just have to come to terms with paying $100 for a video game.

I play the career on Hard, got up to "5. Making the Band" or something like that. I manage to get 5 stars on most songs, got 4 on "Barracuda" and something else though.
I usually play on Expert though. It just takes a lot of practice really. Pay attention to the tutorials that they have, its impossible to complete the harder songs without hammer-ons and pull-offs.
Back in March I first picked up GH2 and it was a challenge for me on normal with certain songs. Now I can play most songs on Expert and get at least 80%. We have a GH2 in the breakroom at my work, and I've played GH2 almost every break and lunch since I started working there..... so just keep on playing, and just try that next difficulty level even if you fail miserably the first 10 times, eventually you'll master it.

If there's a mac person out there who wants to buy GHIII, I'll buy the PC disk off of you
(maybe for $30?) The game comes with both the PC and Mac versions, and I don't need the guitar as i already have one.
The system requirements for such a simple game are totally ridiculous, but oh well.

FYI, for anyone who bought the PS3 version, DO NOT go out and buy the older PS2 Games!
I just picked up GH1, GH2, and GH Encore, and none of them work with the GH3 guitar!
Also, I have heard that the GH3 guitar doesn't work with Rock Band either...

Stupid if you ask me. The 360 controller works with it.

There's no way they can't patch it. As it stands now, they are selling
the Rock Band PS3 'game only' which is unplayable with any guitar instruments!
Someone posted that Redoctane/Harmonix got blasted with so much hate e-mail for this that they are working on a patch in conjunction with Sony.
We'll see.

Picked this up yesterday. My sister and brother-in-law came over and we played it for 5 hours straight!
Fun game, but it will lose it's appeal quickly I'm sure. That's why I'm keeping the box and everything so I can sell it....

Just curious but what difficulty are you playing on? I have only done Medium on GH2, so I have a long way before I'll get tired of GH2, but I'm supposedly getting a bonus today, so depending on how big it is, I may pick up GH3 tonight

We had a couple friends over and played for hours. We thought there was a gas leak because the walls were breathing.
