Tried the Ring enduro with my buddy Minolta again. I got like 5400 so probably too soon. He missed the dang pit with red tires so I checked 20 mins later and 2nd place by 2 mins. The 2nd place car was that 67 race car. I figured I'd be 3rd by daylight.

Speaking of which we need to set up a post a time trial competition. We did at V6P when GT3 came out. Basically we set up the track, car, etc. You have a week to get a best time and then post we our times. It's pretty fun.

Supposedly there is a legit way to prove times - if you go into the Rankings screen on any track, and move the arrow to any of your times listed, and press START, it will give you a passcode consisting of numbers. Supposedly this sequence of numbers can be used to prove your time. How, I don't know. But I have seen some sites where they ask for this passcode as proof for running a certain time.

srika, what were your lap times when running the supra and the vette. i've been messing around with the tommy kaira ZZII and added a wing giving it a 55 fromt and 65 rear downforce and been messing with the suspenion. i've been running about a 6:18 which was my best but i did have some offs. i still do not totally know the ring. btw this was with the wheel not the controler.

Here is a page showing all of the F1 car colors - there are 11 in all:
http://toshtune.studio-tozawa.com/formulaone.php
this is the best I've found so far.

I think I may end up getting a wheel at some point this year. I have been perusing the following thread at GTplanet, checking out people's setups, and it just looks like so much fun. Yeah I am quite sure I will give in. Check all the pages of this thread, there are some innovative ideas in here:

God I can still her the Toyota 2000GT buzzing in my ear from Mission 11 NY. Mission 12 is going to be tough.
I ran the Minolta a couple of times on the ring and barely beat my CLK DTM time of 6:46 or whatever I posted. How do you guys stabilize it? Increase stabilizer rate, lower car even more, unstiffen spring rate?

In regard to the tuning on the Minolta, I am going to try getting it more stable soon. Will keep you posted.

Yeah I beat the 2000GT one. It wasn't as bad as the one I'm on now with the Ford GT Race Car. I can't beat -3 seconds. I have to re-learn Laguna Seca or something. I thought I knew the track but I can't figure out what part of the track I can improve on. Anyone want to get in depth?
I still have Mission 11 in my head MSZ. Let me know if you need a tip or so. I remember the turns, gears I used, and how I took the turns. Here's a tip. On that straightaway where you're going north. Don't follow the road. Make your own line going up. It shaves off a lot of time.

In other news, I'm up at to 42%. Europe is almost conquered short of the French race and 1000 miles. Professional is almost done except for the last race. Did the 2nd last race with my Skyline GTR. I gotta buy a truck and a 3400mm car for beginner. Special Conditions only has 6 races on Hard left. I figured out the track with ice races. Hug the curves since the game automatically turns you. Hey the stupid car bumps you for 5 secs then my trick balances it out. I did most of it with the Impreza Conpect Rally car. I gotta go with more juice for hard. Did the NY endurance race to win that Diablo look alike. Car handles like ass but has nice top end. Does 60mph in 1st gear.

You can gain a lot of time on the AI at the corkscrew, as well as turn 1, and turns 2 and 3.

Quick question:
You know how you can sort the cars in your garage by different categories?
Everytime I go to the garage, only one of the category tabs (power) is listed, the other one is left blank. I change it to whatever I want (let's say price for example). When I exit and re enter, it changes back to power/blank.
Any way to "lock" these tabs, or make them default settings so they always stay the same? It's very annoying to keep shuffling categories around.

I can't get the cork screw. I'll be in 4th going up the hill then I'll nail the breaks right when it plateaus out. It's not too late or early when I do it. I try to follow the black trail line but if I get it right (I'll spin out like 60% of the time there) and end up on the left side when going downhill it seems to be the quickest. In part 1 and 2 I was able to fly over that part easy but it seemed to become a sharper turn by GT3. Let me know what you do there. If that don't work then I'll do a full turn by turn assessment.
If you want to sort by power you have to take the left column off power into another category like weight for example. Then the one on the right allows you to sort power. You can't have both listed. The left is not a sorter, it allows one extra detail (weight, country, powertrain, etc) while the right lets you sort. The arrow determines ascending vs. descending.

Also, if you wipe out at all during the first 2 laps, restart the race. It's pointless to continue through with all 3 laps, unless you want to get more practice. If even on your first lap, you wipe out at the first turn - restart. You won't catch up, and then you'll be kicking yourself at the end of lap 3, when you lose. Just in case you didn't know that already.
