Forza 1 in Xbox 360?

Can someone please tell me if the original Forza will run in the 360? I played Forza for the first time over the weekend and realized I need to own it! I do not have an Xbox though and I'd rather have the latest and greatest if it is backwards compatible with the game. Yes I know there is a Forza 2 for the 360 but I'd like to run through the original first. I only got through Gran Turismo 3 before discovering Forza... might not go back! Thanks.

yes it can...I believe they added it with one of the first backward compatibility update

also, its built in-house at MS, so it will certainly have support for 360

It works on the 360...I heard it has some minor glitches.

Looks like somebody hasn't played Gran Turismo 4 yet.

It does a couple odd things, The framerate isn't spectacular with 7 other cars on the screen, though if you turn the rear mirror off that gets better. Also sometimes One part of a sound will start repeating itself. Only way to fix that is to pause the game then go and screw with the sound volume (which is pretty much impossible when racing online).

Nope, I haven't but I intend to! I just sold my GT1 & GT2 at a garage sale over the weekend, lol. I suppose I could snag a GT4 off ebay or something. Wait a minute... can't the PS2 output 480p? I should get some component cables for it too.

bkknight369 - didn't you used to live in Irvine, CA?

I play Forza on my 360 somewhat often. They have updates once in a while to fix the glitches. Before it used to be so bad that the framerate became choppy and the audio would completely cut out. Pised me off because I would constantly overrev my engine because I couldn't hear anything. After the most recent update though (~2 weeks ago) everything works fine.

I was the same. I had GT3 and played Forza, and really wanted it. I got it because the price for Forza dropped. Then after I got Forza and played GT4 I really wanted GT4.

GT4 supports both 480p and 1080i mode.

Yes it is fake HD, but it looks better than any PS2/XB/GC games. (cannot compare to PGR3, though)

If you're hooked up to xbox live, it will automatically update and run fine. The only annoying thing is the sound bug (usually tire noise).

So I got GT4 finally! It rocks!! Nobody told me it had NOS, lol I love it!! That reminds me, I need to find some component cables and run it in 480p & Dolby Digital...

The PS2 does not output in 1080i. Only 480i or 480p.

Like I said, it is a "fake HD" mode. From what I read at GT Planet, the resolution is about 640 x 1080.

 I bought a x2vga adapter for my comp monitor to run GT4 in HD. Looked great!

It is worth mention that Tourist Trophy, which uses GT4's graphic engine, also supports 1080i mode.

:sure:

640x1080? in other words a pillar boxed aspect ratio of 0.59? you must be mistaken.

soopa 12-02-2006 01:27 PM

Just for hilarity's sake, this is what 640x1080 looks like:

I think the software itself stretched it to fit the screen. As we all know the PS2 does not have a 1920 x 1080 output.

I got my infos from this thread:

http://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showth...ighlight=1080i

soopa 12-02-2006 01:42 PM

it's more likely 640x540 line doubled.
