yeah so I gave in and bought it yesterday for 360...

We had a snow day from work today so I got a chance to play for a while and I unlocked all but the last 3 characters. God knows if I will ever be able to unlock those guys, I read what their requirements are and it sounds insane...

The AI in this game is pretty good, they adapt to your fighting style fairly quickly and you gotta adapt. Seth isn't too bad on the first round, but once you get to the second round he starts countering you like crazy and bangs you out quick...

The most trouble I had today was trying to get past Zangief with Sakura. He is a beast and her attacks would do nothing to him...

^^ In arcade I set the game to easiest just to unlock the characters. Playing arcade is fine, but it is not the best way to test your skills since they are CHEAP! I spend 99% playing online. Anyway, so far the hardest person to unlock is Gouken. I've seen so many ppl on youtube to unlock him by getting 2 perfects and 2 ultra combo, but that is not TRUE at all. The way I unlock him is to play Akuma and beat the game once and then play akuma again and get at least 1 perfect and 3 ultra combos and 5 first attacks and without any continues. I got this info from Gamefaqs.

fuck me... I should hire one of my lil cousins to do this for me... 20 bucks if you unlock Gouken for me... haha...

also I think I need to buy the joystick. The analog stick is tough for some moves.

lizardlick is backed up for quite awhile. I ordered a JLF stick from him on the 17th and I still haven't received it. I ordered my buttons from ebay.
I got pink as well; just need to drop in the pink JLF when I get it.

Here's the design I went with:

I found the ps3 joystick to be wonderful when playing as Zangief.

cgLockdown for the ps3 fighters. You most likely will not play me, you'll be playing my roommate(s), but if you face a Ken/Sagat, it is moi. For the record, he has not won against me yet.

First of all, I apologize for all the cursing I did last night, even though you couldn't hear me I never played anyone so challenging using Balrog, I hate that fucker.

yeah, I am using the regular controller, using the analog stick. I am a console child, never got into the arcades, so the arcade stick wouldn't work for me.

good games man, let's play again. I'll be practicing for ya

A friend brought this over last nite. Load times were terrible!

I did the update, and it helped ALOT. If anyone hasn't done the update yet, I would highly suggest it!

Game looks nice! I don't have an HDTV anymore, but still looked good!

Tried the single player, and some random person joined my game from the internet. Is there a way to disable this without signing out?

Yeah, it's on the right side of the screen when you're at the menu screen I believe. I cant remember but if you cant get to it on that screen then you may have to go to options to change. I do know you can see what it's set on from the menu screen though.

That seems to be the case with all the Madcatz controllers. I have been trying to hunt one of the tournament units down and I have no luck. Madcatz would be raking in some serious coin if they decided to produce more.

Are there any joysticks for the PS3 that have the taller type stick?

All the ones I found so far are short with a ball.

you can replace the balltop with a bat style top, but the 'action' will still feel japanese (clicky).
You'll have to replace the stick with a Happ stick to get the stiff american bat-top style feeling.

Thanks for the info Rise.

I also found this. It is a 2 joystick setup from X-Arcade. I think it is mostly used for MAME machines (PC and Mac), but they have adapters to use with Xbox (original, not 360), Wii / Gamecube, Dreamcast, or Playstation 1, 2, 3.

http://www.xgaming.com/two-player.shtml

Not bad price either, $129 plus $15 for PS3 adapter.

Anyone have any experience with this joystick?

My friend bought the PS3 and 360 version, so I was holding his 360 copy for the last 2 weeks, but he just took it back this weekend. I am going thru SF withdrawals. Gonna get my own copy this weekend though. Then I want some rematches Rise

Just ordered my X-Arcade. Unfortunately, they emailed me that the PS2/3 adapter is currently out of stock, so it won't ship until Mar 20...

Then again, I haven't even picked up the game yet!

Be sure to post a review of it when you get it. I want a joystick as the Madcatz unit is damn near impossible to find.

How do you like it on your MAME machine?

I don't think it will work on your 360 as MS has not allowed them to make an adapter yet. It looks like they will later though.

Update: However, we can promise that we will have a legal option available to our customers this year.

I have the solo (single) X-arcade stick in the garage. I used to use when I was playing Marvel vs Capcom 2 for the dreamcast and Xbox. All I have to say is this joystick is as close as you can get to the true SF2 arcade machine. It feels and controls great. I have been too lazy and still haven't purchase the adapter for the ps3 for SFIV, but maybe in the near future. As of right now the sony controller is fine for playing.

Is that the big grey and green one? I still have mine. Didn't know you can get an adapter.

EDIT: No you bought the big one. I have to see if that DC one is usable.

i like it alot, actually the first game i tested the sticks on was street fighter 2. love the layout, although the spacing for 2p is a little cramped if both people have big arms.

I played it a few times at a friend's place when I was visiting him...you need to really know how to control zoning. Practice, practice!

Did you play SFIII before...?
