I suppose this could have gone in car talk, but since it was for the game's launch party...

This game is GREAT!! I picked it up to keep me occupied before Forza 3 comes out and I haven't been able to put it down. The car physics and graphics and phenomenal. If you think Forza 3 looks good, you should pick this one up. Nothing like driving through the finish line with half the car's bodyparts missing.
I recommend using a wheel...it changes the experience totally.

Well after three different delays, the PC version of this was finally released on Steam. While I had no pretenses about this being a serious racing sim, I was still looking forward to some DX11 eye candy. Especially since I had a coupon that came with my video card for a free copy.
So I get the the 10.5 GB downloaded from Steam which actually went amazingly fast. I start the install and up comes the installation for Microsoft Games for Windows Live. "WTF? I got this via Steam, why would I want or need Games for Windows Live?" I cancel that install, and the whole process quits. DIRT2 is never installed.
OK fine, I'll install Games for Windows Live. That finishes and installs some Rapture 3D game which that I never wanted or asked for along with it. I'm slightly pissed now, but OK, Microsoft probably just wants to give you a game as part of the Games for Windows Live install. Fine. That all finishes and DIRT2 is installed.
I start up DIRT2 and the game tells me "You're not signed in to a racer profile. Click next or hit enter." I hit enter in DIRT2 and...
Up pops Games for Windows Live which basically proceeds to tell me "This game needs a profile. You need to sign in to an existing gamer tag or create a live.com account and a Games for Windows Live gamer tag."
"Uhhh....exqueeze me? You made me get this game via Steam, and now you're telling me I have to use Games for Windows Live to play multiplayer? What a bunch of crap! I'll think about creating those things later if I decide I want to play multiplayer." I cancel the prompts for the G4WL/live.com stuff....
DIRT2 itself now pops up a message stating "You are not signed in to a Games for Windows Live profile. Autosave will not be enabled and you will not be able to save your progress in the game."
Hey Codemasters, could you possibly admit any more blatantly that you're whoring yourself out to Microsoft? I will remind you like I did Infinity Ward that it was PC gamers that made you what you are and put food on your tables and now you do this?
FUCK YOU !!!

Dirt 2
Awesome game. I played it for hours this weekend. Can't get enough of the physics and graphics. The game is gorgeous. I sometimes get burnt out by Forza's sim gameplay, but i can pop in Dirt and it's fun in every race. Rent or buy it, trust me.

I just got this game for christmas for my Wii. I was somewhat disappointed when I found that the Wii version is nothing close to the other versions. The Wii version looks like a PS1 or PS2 game at best with a very short game play. I played this game for a few hours and im almost through the whole game. Its an amusing game but its a little frustrating that they can claim this is the same game that they put out for the other consoles
