360, PS3: Midnight Club - Los Angeles

Anyone playing this?

I used to like the midnight club series on the orig. xbox. I bought this one this weekend because its only $40!

Verdict:Well worth it.

Its like GTA without the guns. LA looks fantastic at night, day, morning and afternoon or even when it rains. Rockstar really beefed up the GTA engine with this one. The graphics put Test Drive Unlimited to shame. The blur and colors really look sweet. There are a lot of small details that make this one stand apart from Test Drive. Such as, pedestrians that run out of your way. Also, for the first time in a LONGGGGGGGGGG time...the traffic is mostly licensed cars. So expect to see chevy pickups and cadillac cts' out there.

Cars all look good. Interiors are A++. The modding on this game is rediculous...from tire size (sidewall, width, etc) to gauge colors. Its got a decent car selection to choose from, but Rockstar has already started to release add on cars. On the convertibles, you can mess with the tops. All the convert. actions are to the "T" and its something I dont think I've ever seen in a game.

I would say if you liked Test Drive, give this one a shot. The physics are lightyears better and its just as fun. LA isnt as pretty as Hawaii, but the graphics make up for it.

It's a lot of fun... I couldn't stop playing when I first got it. I don't find that the replay value is great, but it's still pretty fun customizing cars and playing online.

^^ It is very similar...except:

1) The cars look better
2) The graphics are better
3) The sounds are better
4) You can mod the cars to hell
5) Much more action and no 100mile 1hr races.
6) Better physics
7) Better environment
8) The people dont look like aliens
9) Better modeled interiors (window button lights, working clocks, etc)
10) Licensed traffic
11) Real Working City (pedestrians, 7-11's, realistic trash, neighborhoods, malls, movie studios, etc. Not generic auto gen like TDU.

Its just the next step up. The only thing that TDU takes over this one is the sheer size of the island. There is still a sense of exploration but it would take about 20-30 minutes to go around the entire city, as opposed to over an hour. Ill admit it is fun finding back roads through Hawaii, but take overall Midnight Club is 20x more fun.

It is similar. The first underground was revolutionary without being too cheesy. Midnight Club Trumps Underground for sure.

You will def. enjoy it.

Those original few NFS games were Iconic....

NFS1, 2, Hot Pursuit, Porsche Unleashed....I'll never forget 'em!

That being said, those were before the modding your car craze and fast and the furious. I can see how Phee loves Underground. After that it all went down hill, although this newest one that is about to come out looks pretty hot!

of course the graphics sucked, they were older games.

and imo the physics in porsche unleashed was great, each car actually handled differently.

also the fact that the exhaust from each car sounded different.
