Of course everyone loves the pistol in the first game, it was ridiculously overpowered - multiplayer = pistol wars.
I can't really even compare the two because Halo 2 has online multiplayer, which puts it >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Halo 1.

^^ That's putting the cart before the horse.
I was going to wait for Halo 3...but if Gears of War is as good as it appears, I may get the 360 sooner

I'll probably pick up the 360 a month or two prior to the release of Halo 3. That is going to be my favorite game on the console anyway, although call of duty and gears of war are looking good. And halo wars whenever that comes out.

The fifth anniversary of Halo is here, and to mark the event Bungie has made three big announcements. Its first revelation is the biggest. When spring 2007 rolls by, Xbox Live subscribers will be in for a huge treat in the form of a downloadable multiplayer public beta of Halo 3. For those of you not "in the know," a beta is basically a pre-release version of a game; in this case, it's a near-final version of the multiplayer portion of Bungie's upcoming first-person shooter.
This will be the first time that a playable beta of a Halo title has been made available on Xbox Live. Bungie plans to use this open beta to gather feedback on the multiplayer portion of Halo 3 to help ensure that the final product is as refined and polished as possible. This means that the feedback of everyday gamers like you can influence the development of one of the biggest Xbox 360 games of all time. Very little is known about what the download will include, but we've already sent a request for more info from Bungie and are awaiting a reply.
The second announcement is that a special 60-second Halo 3 teaser will be broadcast on December 4 of this year during ESPN's Monday Night Football. This ad will be shown once and only once, but don't worry: If you miss it, you'll still be able to download it from Xbox Live. The ad was created by the McCann Erickson advertising agency, the same group that created the award-winning Xbox 360 jump rope ad. Bungie says that the teaser will "provide viewers with a unique and compelling look at Master Chief and the world of Halo 3."
The third and final reveal is a new downloadable Halo 2 multiplayer map pack for the Xbox 360. This collection of all-new maps will be made available for download next spring from Xbox Live Marketplace. Once again, no additional info about these maps was made available, but we are working on getting you more details as soon as possible.
To date, the Halo series has sold 14.7 million units worldwide and raked in nearly $700 million dollars. Gamers have played more than four billion Halo 2 matches on Xbox Live. Halo 3 is expected to be released sometime in 2007. Since the multiplayer beta is in spring, you can bet good money that the game will see a fall or winter release.

Imagine if the warthog had a seat right in the front like a little cradle or something. that would be interesting. As it is the person in the passenger seat only has a 150 degree turning radius or something like that.

It's ok yum, Optimus is a big guy but he has a heart, that's what separates autobots from decepitcons. we know, we understand your pain.
