Anyone ever raced mid 90's 300ZX TT?
Just wondering...I had quite an experience with one that appeared to be completely stock.
I know there are alot of Z's out there that are built to run and would eat me alive,
but what are your experiences? BUELLER? BUELLER? anyone?

A guy I work with has a stock 300ZX TT. He said he raced a stock CL-S from a stop and it was pretty even but from a roll he beat the CL-S. This guy used to have a modded 300ZX TT that ran a 12.4 1/4 mile with a slipping clutch. Not bad

What's your experience like TypeSKid? I would think that stock for stock, the 300ZX TT would munch on the CLS once the turbo kicks in. I mean, that thing has 280 ft-lb of torque at 3600rpm! The CL has what, 200?

I've ran with one from a roll and HE DID NOT get around me.
This was about 2 weeks ago.
It looked stock, and looked to be in decent condition.
They are also just as heavy as our cars, no?

They are pretty bad ass. I raced my buddies in the quarter and got wasted bad. It was pretty even until about the time the light turned green, then I started to lose. I think stock he ran around a 14 flat at 100+. No bad for a car that was never intended to drag.
If you are on the highway, don't even bother. Even the early 90's are major fast.

a friend of mine owns a 90 300ZX TT..he bought it at stock and it was already pretty fast..i can not beat him..of course i was driving a accord at the time but my accord is heavy mod...and afterwards..he started to mod his 300ZX..spend a lot of money in it and it is so beautiful..body kits..big rims and intercooler..about 360~400HP after mod and the car is still strong

i used to go fairly even with my 88 rustang gt that had 355 gears till bout 80, then they would fly away

I think the 94+ 300zx's (or maybe just 94) had secretly been detuned to about 280 hp to meet regulations).
C$D got a 5 second flat 60mph run out of a early 90's 300zx and they run high 13s to low 14s through the quarter with a good driver (mag drivers got those times).
So a true TT (maybe you saw an NA) with a good driver should have beaten you.

There aren't that many Twin Turbos out there and there are bunches of NA 300ZX's. A TT runs to 60 in 5.2, has 300 hp and is one fast car. It shouldn't have any problems with any CL. One with a normally aspirated engine might be a little closer.
