03 CL-S 6 speed VS 04 Mustang GT manual
One of my friends roommate want to line up with me. He said he was going to spank me because he had a V8! I just smiled at him and said lets go. The first run I missed 3rd gear so that one was FAWKED! So we lined up one more time! We both punched and he got the jump on me because of the FAWKING front wheel drive, but once I got traction half way in to 2nd gear I started to catch up. Went to about 110 and by that time I was 2 car lenghts ahead

coupe or vert? He should beat you from a stop, but if he isnt that great of driver i can see it happening.
I pulled a 14.1 @ 99mph outta my dad's 110% bone stock 00 GT 5 speed.

Why the eye roll? I dunno, it was spring time, like 3 years ago.
Some guys with only pulling the air silencer and a great launch (like 1.9 60') have pulled 13.9's out of stock 2V GT 5 speeds.
Just because most people cant break mid14's with their bolt-on GT doesnt mean the car cant, it means the drivers suck.
BTW that 14.1 @ 99 was without even shifting out of 3rd.

Well his put down 235rwhp 285rwtq, like i said bonee stock, so maybe it had a bit more power than most GT's of that gen.
And any modded 99+ GT with boltons not running 13's is either bad weather, bad driver, or no traction. Period.
I have a buddy with a 01 GT coupe automatic. With exhaust (no headers), shift kit, UD pulleys, and bumped timing has ran 13.8 @ 100mph. Every time down, not really affected by weather too much.

Are you blind? I OWN a CLS6. I know what they run. I arguably have one of the fastest 1/4 times for my mods, also. So I know what they run, and what they are capable of.
And yes, I agree that a CLS6 with an intake vs. a 100% stock 99+ GT 5 speed is a drivers race. Most races are drivers races, since any shitty driver can make a fast car slow.
I have beaten LS1's in my mustang, doesnt mean my car is faster.
A stock 99+ GT 5 speed SHOULD beat a stock CLS6. It is lighter, has more hp & tq, and has more available traction. That doesnt mean every driver of them knows how to take advantage of that. From a roll the CL-S starts to have the advantage because of gearing, higher redline, and power curve.

68 degrees, low humidity.
2.29 60's for both cars:
cls6: 14.6 @ 95-96mph
99+GT: 14.4 @ 95-96mph.
theoretically, if they both started the race at the exact same time, the stang has the lead by the quarter by 2 cars(every tenth of a second is a car lenght, by the 1/4). however, on the streets, its nearly impossible to have identical reaction times, especially when your honkin' it off. If the CLS6 honks off, and therefore gets the jump, there is no way in hell the stang will win.

Which, btw is what your CL-S has. Does that mean that CL-S 260hp =
What if someone said fwd & 3600lbs = ??
And tommy if thats what you and a buddy ran the same day, thats great. But those times mean absolutely nothing to someone who can actually drive.

Wow, you're a complete moron.
How many real race cars use Fwd V6's? Get a clue retard.
And you're argument is that heavy, low tq fwd V6's are more fun than lighter higher torque, rwd V8's? Good luck with that opinion, o wise one.

My girl has an 00 Mustang GT 5spd, and I have to say its a formiddable opponent. It weighs less and has the same power, so it all depends on the driver and their abaility to drive. She wont race me since racing isnt safe...in her opinion, but I have run both my CLS6 and her GT pretty hard and they both hold their own.

Too bad your thread ended up in a pissing contest and far too few
BTW, I get a kick out of those type of comments. Any experienced racer knows you can't compare one car's results to the next and say that is how everyone elses runs will end up like. Then you have track conditions, temps, maintenance variations, yada yada yada . . . and then there's the street race where even more factors come in to play . . . and the best one is . . . well this "insert trade rag results here" says my car will beat your car, like we don't have a chance . . .
BTW, I've beaten V8 GTs with my TLS Automatic . . . so much for trade rag results

I pulled a 14.5 in my auto but that was with Headers Intake and Exhaust! Ruf has a certain driveing style that gives him the edge! He has mastered the gate shifting. Everytime I did that my timing would be off. Im itching to see what i pull in my 6-speed. Getting the launch will be interesting!

at 70 degrees I've only seen 14.4-14.5s run at the track, with bolt ons!
I've seen countless drivers drive the GT at 70 degrees at the dragstrip. None of them came close to 14.1, especially with their weak ass 95-96mph traps. at 30 degrees however, I saw 13.9's out of the same cars.

I call BS. No self respecting track opens their doors when the ambient temperature is below freezing. And I've runa 13.96@101 at 64 degrees farenheit out on my old '01 GT with magnaflow catback, Steeda CAI, and Pro 5.0 shifter. 1.98 60 foot on stock gatorbacks. Any questions?
