cause that is truely what civicdriver runs, he is a horrible driver being all bald and pastry colored

Jacobpockros 05-17-2010 08:39 PM

I ran a 9.7 at qualcomm stadium, but it's not a real race track, it's a parking lot :ugh:

At a real 1/8 track i could easily pull a low low 9

That and 1/8 mile races are completely worthless.

friesm2000 05-18-2010 04:51 PM

and pretty much AWD cars win easily, cause they can launch so much harder, and not spin tires

CL-S progression 01 05-19-2010 06:07 AM

well i went to the drag strip on sunday.

had 3/4 tank of gas and the track was TERRIBLE since it was mostly 10sec or under drag cars blasting down the track so my tires couldn't stick to shit due to all the rubber on the track oh and it was 25 degrees and my car sat inline for about 80 mins before I could make ONE pass... that did not help my time. :-(

even with my tires at 20psi!!! and a brake stand at 1000rpm.. wheels still broke loose with ease :-(

but anyway I still put down a 14.8 which aint that bad..

my 60 foot was 2.355, 1/8 was 9.6, 1/4 was 14.8, mph was 95.2.

if i could just stick those bloody tires I'd have my 14.5 or less but NOOO... I am gonna go to a different track (st. thomas) where the track has some pavement left and i can get like 12 runs in instread of 2!

FYI my pass before that, I got a 2.420 60 foot and my 1/4 mile time was 15.1 THEREFORE every .1 u save off the 60 foot will translate into .2 or greater off your 1/4 mile time.

I'm gona keep going till i get my loowww 14sec pass then I will be HAPPY

civicdrivr 05-19-2010 01:52 PM

Get better tires.

is tht the normal time??
Cause i just got back from the 1/8th mile and im in the 8.7
u shift slow or u dont stomp on it!!
wht rpm are you launching at??
and Mods?

Jacobpockros 05-19-2010 03:32 PM

Well than maybe i can do an 8.5

I shift correctly, the track is just pure garbage. It's basically a sandy parking lot with a time stamp machine.

well maybe all the rubber tht sticks to the floor from other cars might get u some traction!
yeah but wht mods do u have beside mufflers

Jacobpockros 05-19-2010 03:38 PM

It's all in my signature. If you ran where i do you would probably hit a very high 9 or 10. The track here is a joke.

id prolly still be in the 8's cause on street i dont really spin whn i brake launch since i have low end tourqe from my butterfly removal and i have really grippy tires!!
i have light weight pulley set, 4 1/2Intake, SD headers with custom 3inch downpipe, P2r Plenums, evo2 cat back cat delete... gonna get a tune this friday so prolly be making bettr time

Jacobpockros 05-19-2010 03:59 PM

There is no way you would be close to an 8 (no offense). The new dodge callengers with the hemi's can't even break out of the 9's here.

SexyCLS 05-19-2010 04:07 PM

u spun! where did u launch at?

Jacobpockros 05-19-2010 04:09 PM

2500. It's literally imposible to not spin at this track. The AWD's even spin every time

SexyCLS 05-19-2010 04:11 PM

x2, but maybe you should listen to your own advice though

civicdrivr 05-19-2010 10:12 PM

Theres nothing wrong with my tires. Ive got no problem launching the car anymore. I just had to relearn it.

friesm2000 05-19-2010 10:18 PM

so turbo now then????

civicdrivr 05-19-2010 10:49 PM

No.

friesm2000 05-19-2010 11:03 PM

but you have relearned to drive it now though , so you are probably lusting for more power now

Am I understanding you correctly.
You have to relearn how to launch the car you drive everyday.

ummmm....... he had a massive gain in the lowend torque when he got the 3.6 put in, so he had to relearn how to launch it and such, when compared to only the 3.2 motor

I dont beat the shit out of the car everyday anymore - and if I do get on it, its usually while rolling. Launching any FWD car is tricky. Launching a 6MT is trickier. Launching one with about 60lb-ft more tq at the wheels over stock is even harder.

CL-S progression 01 05-20-2010 05:51 AM

yea i've come to the conclusion the track is not a good place to get ur tires to stick.

when i do the same thing on the steets with pavement it's way faster.

next thing i'm doing is suspension which will defs increase my 1/4 mile/ 60 foot time a lot.

i'm gonna get my car to do a 2.1 or less I'm dead set on doin it

civicdrivr 05-21-2010 12:24 AM

Good luck.

How did no one realize this was counter intuitive.
With a Butterfly Delete you LOSE low end torque, The Butterfly Delete doesn't help you at all, there are threads on it containing dyno graphs comparing all three possible states of the Butterfly (Open, Close & Functioning Properly)
