VIDEO Whoop'n 200whp Escort

This video I had to retape it from my tv,so looks like crap.you might have to turn up your volume to hear it.Also my girl taped it and was looking at the wrong board at the finish line.but that guy went 76 in the 1/8 and I crushed him.How fast do you think I was going.mach 1 ,mach 2 ? j/k http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=42sF-AHexB8

escort with 200HP should be just as fast if not faster than a CLS due to weight difference

civicdrivr 03-20-2009 09:54 AM

x2. That Escort had nowhere near 200whp.

Just going by what that guy claimed.maybe his shifting was off,I dont know.the escort had a very lumpy cam.I do know that much.I got him out the gate.and left him.either way,add it to the kill list.

Where are you located? I'd love to run a 2nd Gen CL to see where i stack up

JBlueCLS6 03-24-2009 06:55 PM

Maybe your Double Decker wing gave you an extra 200 HP. I mean that mod is serious business.

Its a shame you didn't mention this a week ago. I was in NY :tomato:

I wonder why some people even take their cars to the track and waste their money. That escort is a perfect example.

If your car can't break the 15 second barrier, they should have everyone at the finish line pointing at you and laughing till you leave.

In no way am I saying my CL-S is fast compared to other cars at the track, but against the average car on the road it is slightly above average.

What a lame comment!

People have to start somewhere. And the track is a lot safer! A 16 to 17second car will still kill people.

Who said anything about safety? I didn't say that if they didn't go to the track that they should race on the road instead.

Cars running a 16.5 and trying to find their starting point isn't going to accomplish much. How much time can they really cut off without going FI? Only option to get their times much lower is to go FI, then the base 16.5 time is pointless because that is on just all engine.

Perhaps my comment is lame, but in this economy, people who can only afford an escort should save their $50 at the track and put it towards paying off their car because it's a fine practical car but not a speed racer unless you want to drop a lot of money.

u either like making ur car as fast as it can go or u don't.

Obv u don't

I took my beater volvo to the track a few months ago, and I was by far the slowest one there :dunno: I still had a great time and plan on doing it again. Doesn't matter if you want to take your 10 second gutted charger or a 76 moped, either way, your racing and still having a great time doing it.
