Track day - I can barely believe the results!

I finally got a chance to hit the track again today. After months of 100 degree weather (yeah, in Canada go figure), today was a nice and cool 75 with no humidity. I was dying to go test out my IceBox - last time I ran was bone stock, and my best time was a mere 14.8 @ 96.3mph.

I get to the track with a 1/3rd tank of gas, 40psi in my rear tires, drop the fronts down to 22psi, take out the spare and go line up for a shakedown pass. Could hardly believe my eyes when I got my timeslip back:

That was backed by 2 14.4 @ 96/97 and 3 14.5 @ 96 passes. I waited for cooler temperatures around closing time, but my traps weren't going up and I couldn't get my 60's down into the 2.3's anymore.

I am extremely happy with the results, and believe that I have pretty much tapped out the potential of this car, as it stands. With some better tires, I could probably hit low low low 14s, and with DR's 13.999 at the least.

Luskville - a shitty shitty track 30 minutes away from Ottawa. They were spraying VHT in the afternoon but they stopped before I got there.

Nice runs, the best I could do with the bone stock setup was 14.5 @ 96.5. I can tell the icebox gave me some more power, but not sure how much. I am hoping for 13.9's with some lighter front wheels & icebox.

Nice runs, you can prob knock off at least 1-2 tenths if you had dr's. If your car is anything like mine it likes to wheelhop, regardless if you have sticky tires.

someone in the 6speed accord with HUGE slicks on the front got into 13's stock, and those things have 20 less hp than the CLS, AND don't have an LSD.

go for 13's witht he DR's yo.

LSD is meaningless when you have slicks, no way you're gonna spin them. And I read that thread, no way I am going to put my car through redline launches on slicks. Its my reliable DD, and that kind of driving is borderline abuse, not performance driving.

Sure mine would run 13's with a redline launch on slicks, but what real worth does that have? Is it gona EVER drive around on slicks? How many times can the drivetrain put up to that kind of stress? Running on street tires or drag radials may not offer the same 60's, but at least its more of a realistic real world number.

I agree that putting this kind of car through redline slick launches is way beyond reasonable. It's my daily driver as well, and I know I've tapped out it's potential in its street trim.

I launched at 2500rpm... let the clutch out with very little throttle input, then slowly went WOT.

thnx well anyway i just lauched at about 5.5k rpm and just droped the clutch and floored it....
Yeah, no thanks. Altho I would have expected a little better than 2.0 60' if I had slicks, but who knows. Reading that thread is funny to me, I said no way I would spend the $$ for an icebox, well yeah......

street trim??, you mean without spending serious bucks or street legal??

you're for all intensive pourposes stock right?? what about a SC or headers...

you could hit 13's in its "street trim"
