Took her to the track

I went to Englishtown NJ today with my fiend in the SRT4.
I got one run in because it got late.
I had my rims on, 2x 12 inch subs with box (~40lbs), and m tires were at 35 front and 40 rear. This was my first time at the track so i was pretty nervous. I gate shifted. And had 1/4 tank of gas. I shofted a little too early from first to second... 1 line before redline and second was almost perdect (a little passed redline)
Heres the slip.

R/T .8
60 2.398
330 6.422
1/8 9.625
MPH 75.96
1000 12.459
1/4 14.825
MPH 95.55

I ran with everything on my car because i wanted to see what my car can do the way that i drive it, which is wit everything on it (rims, subs etc)

that's interesting, you have headers, e.t. is the same, but i trap about 2 mph higher. how were you launching? idle or loading up the torque converter?

i think i torque braked to 1-1.2 rpm...very low though just so that i could save some time from the reaction time when switching from brake to gas... i was dissapointed with my launch because it was very slow and late...

temp was 42
humidity 0% ??? i dont think it was 0 though...

Well its a start. Next time take out the subs, be low on gas, and get a bunch of runs in. I bet you can drop 2-3 tenths and gain 2-3mph doing that.

Do you guys think i can hit anywhere in the low 14's if i take out my subs, spare tire, and race with the gas light on? There was a lot of traction that night too and i took off so slow... i pushed it down 1/4 of the way then 1/2 then i floored it. By the time i floored it i was allready doing like 15-20mph. And what does the reaction time mean by .8? Does it mean that if the reaction time was like .4 then i would have ran a 14.4??
I just got the new by the way from my friend with the srt4. He ran a 14.1 with a streight pipe exhaust no cat or anything...

1/4 tank minimum or you will burn up your fuel pump

Your reaction time doesn't affect your 1/4 mile time at all. It's just for braggin rights in non-competition dragging. You can pretty much go 1/2-3/4 throttle right off the line. You'll get some spin but I can't imagine it's as bad as mine was w/ the supercharger. Lower the front pressure to 26psi and let her loose.

Only if you're on a road course going around corners all the time.

Wrong.

I have 200+ 1/4 passes and ALL have been on less than a 1/4 tank of gas. You dont want to RUN OUT of gas, that can burn out the pump as it uses the fuel to cool itself, but otherwise its fine to run on low.

i put my psi up to 35 i think or 32 because my tires are pretty much brand new and grip very good. (z rated) . I should ev floored it but slowly right off the line instead of keeping it half way then flooring it... And is it bad chirping second or just a little chirp wount hurt the times. Also how the FUCK do you do a burn out before the line?!?! I floored it and braked a little but nothing came out, i gripped like a mother fucker. Isnt it very bad to torque rev that high? (2.5k) That would fry our trannys.

Dont worry about trying to do a burnout, it wont happen. Just drive AROUND the water, get straight, and try to spin them a little to clean them off. At the lights brake-tq it to about 2k rpm when the first yellow lights up. That way you are still launching hard, but not putting too much stress on the tranny. If you are gripping good just floor it right off the line, and make sure to turn VSA off. And no its not that bad to chirp second, wont hurt your times. Now, hitting the rev limiter will hurt your times, so try to avoid that.
