inched out a G37 coupe

so i was cruising and a local red limo tinted g37 comes behind me , i push it and he follows ,i hit 50ish and he comes alongside ,i press horn 3x and we go at it ,up to 80'ish he didnt pull one inch on me. seems like he kept losing distance from me everytime he shifts.... would that be the only reason that my CL on intake only was able to stay in front?

330hp's vs honda's 200 hp's j30a1

my friend just bought a new g37s. They must be pretty fast but I haven't raced one yet. My friend said it's pretty heavy though, and I thought the 335 was quicker

they pull like crazy from 0 but after sixty its acceleration is fair, with an average driver that is. as you can see with a not so good driver i was able to stay ahead/equal after 50 with almost stock 3.0.

the g35 will NOT take us...

6mt + headers alone will kill all stock or mild modded g35s, now add i/e/p/s should be enough to take non-fi g35/350z that aren't too heavily modded

the kid drives a stock 3.0, hes blowing smoke out his ass. he wouldnt be able to beat a stock automatic g35x from a roll non the less a g37.

wait a minute i never said anything about racing a g37 from a ROLL , i understand ill get murdered if i do race from zero.we're talking about 50 mph + , its either the g37 isnt all they say at high speeds or that guy couldnt drive it. now the thing is we RAN SEVERAL TIMES AT THOSE SPEEDS , all of them he couldnt pull on me. why, so far my only guess would be driver error, i need to find one and race it to see if that is the case or its the infiniti's gearing and weight.

i said from a roll because the g35x is slower on a roll from being awd, my friend has a 350z, he got smoked by a g37 when he raced one. and btw his 350z ran a 14.1 on the track when he was bone stock.
what the 1/4 time on a 3.0? like 15.9 at best?

well you have to remember that the quarter mile depends alot on a car's launch. something like a mustang gt,g37,g35,350z ,is350 luanches hard, the reason we get such a bad 1/4 time is because it take us about 3.5-4.3 second just to get to 40 mph in the 3.0. my point being is that if theres a 1 second diffrence in 1/4 mile time then if you somehow manage to react and/or luanch 1 second quicker you would break tie on that 1/4 race. If you go on youtube and watch 1/4 times usually if the car is stock the driver gets a higher number than listed on the magazines, due to various known reasons.

bring a g37 which runs a 14 flat with an AVERAGE DRIVER ,and a 3.0 CL which can run 16 sec.,, at high speed then you will realize that those 2 seconds in the 1/4 are worthless in such situation. and dont forget the power diffrence here,we're talking about 330 hp vs 200 hp, thats some serious diffrence.

I've outran several g35's and 350z's. only one highly modded 350z (non S/C non turbo) pulled on me thus far, and it was slight...

however, OP, the g37's run almost same numbers with the 335's dude....

theres only one logical reason for this, he wasnt racing you.
he was probably just driving fast and you probably smashed the gas just to keep up.

the g37 should be in 13's so thats a 3 sec difference, that is HUGE in a 1/4 mile race, every nano second is worth something, you're really dumb if you think a 2 sec margin is worthless. for his to run a 16 sec run, that means he had to mis-shift while racing you or he simply wasnt racing you.

^^^^^^^^^^^

My money is on the "He was not even racing you" theroy!
But what ever make you feel good about your 1st gen no matter how you rationalize it. From a roll, from a dig or anywhere you want, you would have had you ass handed to you from a G37. (If they knew they we actually in a race.) I know I can say even my slightly modded 2nd gen CLS would get a mud hole stomp in it's ass by a G37.

you do realize that some g35's are faster than the g37 from a launch? and i was doing some research online on the car,i found that the usual run is 14 flat for average driver, however i visited this forum and this guy claims that his g37 did the 1/4 in 15.6 .... dont know if thats possible but to my point,i think if you guys test the g37 at high speeds specifically after 60 ,you find that your 2nd gen will prove to be a formidable car against it,now to to say that he wasnt racing me is a bit akward , we went from 50 to 80ish if not 90ish, in a few seconds and it was very clear that he was gunning it, and i wasnt keeping up because i was already in the front,i stayed there, and he stayed to my door all the way. i hope that you guys will find one and really see how slow that shit is from high speeds, just like the charger r/t lol

let me school you my young dumb friend. look at my mods in my sig ok now listen to this... i RACED a g37 a while back on the PA turnpike and he beat the shit out of my car. i used to own a 3.0 before i got my 3.2 i know 3.0 cant fuck with a 3.2 so i know if you raced a g37 you would not stand a chance. you are truly a dummy if you still think your 3.0 is fucking with a g37
