gs400 vs cls
#2
says "hello to my TLX".
for the '01 and '02 years, lexus only made the GS300 and GS430, not a 400. the GS430 stock for stock with the CL is close competition. seeing as the CL here has I/H, we know what will be the case.

it should be close ...but I think that you should edge him out ....I raced a 98' GS400 and I pulled on him from a roll ...from the dig he may get you initially but you should get him in the end ....goodluck bro.

01-05 GS430's are low 14 sec @ 100mph cars, so they're definitely no slouch. I think with your I/H it would be a pretty even. From a stop, I'd give the GS the advantage. From a roll you might be able to edge him out from 50-110.

The main thing in this case is the condtion of both cars.
98 GS is pretty old now. If it has less than 100K mi, I would put money on GS.
From what I read on the Clublexus forum, GS400 is faster than GS430.
It has something to trottle response.

01 CL-S would be a close race with you possibly losing.
6spd would definitely take a GS400 from a roll, not sure about from a stop though. I raced one on the eway from 70mph & 80mph up to 120mph-130mph and I was pulling on him the whole way, slowly but nonetheless we could both tell who had the faster car.
I'm in a 6spd, stock by the way...
