CLS (i/h/sc'r) vs. Ferarri F50

Wouldn't you know it, not even more than a week goes by after I get the s/c'r installed that I'm driving along and a F50 pulls up behind me, then beside. Some older guy listening to club music, definitely not trying to race anyone. He was revving pretty high seemed like he was staying in 2nd doing 50mph. So anyways there is a car in front of me, his lane is wide open, i figure ehh he won't do anything, I'm gonna get in his lane and pass the car. No sooner than I down it into 2nd and punch he lays into it and blows past. So now that he's officially about 6 cars ahead I just merge into his lane and follow slowly catching up, we both aren't accel anymore. I decided to get up next to him and give it a go, you know what the hell, I know i'll lose. I start getting up next to him and I'm already in 2nd SS @ about 55mph.. I got right next to him and kicked it in, he punched and took off... by the time i got to 90 he was I wanna say 10 cars up, couldn't tell but it was alot. That thing was pretty damn fast, and for some odd reason I hear something spooling, i dunno but it sounded really nice. Wish I would have had "the other car" out for the run, still would have lost i'm sure. But I must say beautiful car, an honor to get my ass handed to me by. Ram, you need to get a turbo kit into production so I can buy one!!

What's up Jimbo, tried to hit your two way tonight, we went down to Crobar. For all wondering, I run my old man's Yacht store, I'm was fortunate enough to be born into this family. Oh, and you have to be Italian too. Heyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!

P.S. - I do real estate and stock investing on the side with my old man as well. I own 2 soon to be 3 condo's, one that I live in, the other one, soon two I rent out. Whoever said real estate has the right idea, it's the way to go now a days. Tip to the one just out of high school, start investing in some stocks, even if you buy 200-500 shares of a cheaply priced gold stock, it's going to skyrocket as soon as gold hit's $500+, and it will!

I'll stay away from "gold stock"... There's a lot of cheap to mid-priced stock to get into...

BTW, real estate is always good...

More importantly if you have an sl65, why spend money modding a cl-s. Just drive the sl65 if you want to go fast, drive the cl-s if you want to take grandma to church.

I guess it has been a while since I've been on here, I thought this thread died. Darrin, I bought the CL-S strictly as a daily driver, knowing I can't drive the SL everywhere, nor would I want to. Then become interested in modifications being that I'm in the CL mojority of the time, I like it to be quick enough to give most cars on the street a good run for their money. The other guy that mentioned all the CL owners in Chicago meeting up. If you put something together, let me know ahead of time so I don't make plans, then I'll be there. I think it might be interesting if we meet at steak and shake on a night where all the ricers are there, and set up some races.

I won't get the SL if I want to go fast, I don't really want to beat the hell out of it. I bought it strictly for show. My Firehawk is my race people and go fast car, it's a low 10 second Slowhawk as my buddy Aaron calls it. I think he's just pissed his '98 stang GT can't beat any of my cars.

We definately need to set up some kind of meet, I'm on the Northside of the city as well, around Harlem and 2 minutes south of Touhy Ave, right by you!!! Let me know when you guys want to meet. Also the guy who mentioned the steak n shake rice night......that would be a good time!!! PM me, and we can talk.

im always up to meet new people. Me and Larry have been trying to meet up for a bit, but our busy schedules always collide. Most of the chicago meets that try to get organized for CL's always back fire. People say their coming, and they end up not coming, so i just stopped altogether.

Not to mention, whenever their is a chicago meet, its always everything but CL's. 350Z's, G35's, Audi's, BMW's, etc.

That would be cool to meet up . I'm down with it all the way. I met "UNCTYPE-S" for about 30 sec. on a red light. I guess there's not a lot of CL's in chicago but hopefully we can bring the best out of it. Joe I live on Pulaski and Devon if you know where that is.... I'll try to pull somedays off for this meet.
