Anybody ever raced a....
Grand Prix GTP? The older 3.8 SC'd ones? I was egging one on the other night, but he wouldn't bit. I was sad. But they should be a damn good race. 240hp 280tq. What do yous guys think?

Mom owned one (before trading up for an '05 TL, oddly enough) since 1997, and it was/is a great car. Sold it to my best friend for $5k (easy miles on it...it was a mother's car!), who also owns an '01 CLS. Now, he's got both cars. I've got my own CLS now ('03 6spd), but we've yet to race them head-to-head (CLS vs. CLS, or either CLS vs. GTP). Seat-of-the-pants says it'll be a great race, though....the GTP will have either CLS off the line (the supercharger just adds buckets of torque off the line....you can just leave the gas down and annhilate the tires to 60-70mph). After that, the CLS should have the GTP by a nose (a short one) in the 1/4 mi. Will report back when we finally hit the track.
BTW, this is my first post on the CL boards....had my '03 6spd for about 2 months...love the hell out of it. Too bad the old lady gets to drive it (I have a company truck that gets the to-and-fro driving...) Glad to be a part of this list!

'03 CLS 6-speed (first furren car I've ever owned...can't complain!)
'72 Pontiac LeMans (10 yrs owned now....will never unload it!)

you should beat a stock one. but my cousin is in my lil car crew, and he has the quickest car. he should be pullin high 13's in the 1/4, with full exhaust, pulley, intake and headers. He can't take off the line. so if u race a moded one, tell him u'll race off the line, they have too much power for their tires to grip. if ur racing a stock one or a lightly modded one, you should have the slight edge. me and my cuz raced i was stock, and he had his pulley and intake, and it was dead even. i pulled in 1-2, then in high 2nd, he caught and took lead and in 3rd i caught him and it was even. the race was never a car length difference. they're easy cars to mod. be careful.

with a CL-S it should be a decent race for a little bit....but ultimately the CL-s probably has more wind up top.
Although slap a pulley on the GTP and the CL-S is more than likely toast.
