Aight well I'm new at the race stories because I don't really race too much but I thought this was kinda funny. I have a 2001 CL-S with AEM CAI and Tanabe springs..nothing fancy. Well me and the girl were out for some pizza and pulled up to this light (45 mph two 4 lane road). Well a guy in a 2001ish Camero pulls up next to me at the light. I look towards the rear of his car (I can only do this because he is inching up and is pulled up farther than me) and I see he has dual custom exhaust coming out of the back..I think to my self man I don't know if I can take a Z28 (even though I have kept up with plenty Z28's on the freeway). The light turns green and he starts to go. At first I say whatever and wasn't going to do anything but then I'm like what the heck..so I get on it. Let me remind you I have a 5 speed slushbox so I don't consider myself too fast. Well by this time he has punched it and is about a car length ahead of me. I slowly start catching on him and about the time 2nd or 3rd gear kicks in (not sure again because the auto ) I pull on him hard and by the time I get to 60mph I look back and I'm about a car lengths ahead of him....ha ha..after this I just let off and cruise back down to 45mph and go on my way..he turns off at the next light..the whole time tryin not to look my way. I could tell he was so mad. After I realized I started pulling on him is when I realized this was no V8 monster but a V6 3.8L 200hp 225tq punk trying to be cool. I just started cracking up and def. made my day. Nothing to be too proud of but more funny than anything.

Gotta love the V-6 muscle cars. My friend has an '01 Mustang v-6 and thinks he's hot...revvin his engine all the time...until people hear my 2.3 and have to start laughing at him. Any win is a good win

Yeah, I wouldn't recommend stepping up and even attempting to play with a Z28, they'll run mid 13s stock all day, lightly modified welcome to 12s and even more embarassment

Thanks for the support. I know most guys that have the Z28's also like to do aftermarket jobs on them too...even more of a reason to stay away.

I love the stance of your car. I saw it when you posted your pics of the new kit. Big fan..keep it rocking. I'd love to have mine that low..but Ohio roads suck!

Those pipes can fool you. That's why I always listen to the exhaust note. If it sounds like a Chevy Beretta when it pulls off, then, yep, it's the worthless V6.

I hear ya man. I'm originally from Wilmington and I use to drive down to Cinci in my slammed integra all the time...I swear every time I came back from Cinci my rims were bent worse and worse every time.

haha downtown cincinnati is the worst place for your rims, i bent mine to hell. i guess they just figure that since 95% of the people downtown have 22's and up that there rims are sturdy enought to withstand the manholes they call potholes lol oh well i got hids now so i see better and the cl is taking a break i got a new toy

Ya can't miss it man. I can't stand that Beretta sound. It sounds like theres a box of Honeycomb cereal in the catalytic converter or some shit like that. The other day at the gas station this high school kid eye balled me gassing up my CL-S. When he jumped in his V6 Camaro and started it up he had his foot flat down on the accelerator - all this noise came out of the back like there was buckshot shooting out of the pipes. I looked in the back and he had two big ass Chevy Silverado-sized exhaust tips drooping under the rear bumper. I laughed my ass off.

Just imagine what a V8 Honda would do to the american muscle scene. They dominated a few years back in indy against the domestics and then ended up supplying the whole series with V8 engines.
