01 cls vs 07 civic si

I have a friend that has an 07 civic si and he thinks he can beat my 01cls(auto). I have a comptech CAI and the comptech cat back exhaust. I think I will beat him. But I wondering what you guys think. Would it be close? Would he be faster off the line?

dope! 06-19-2008 05:45 PM

i think he can beat u..i have an 05 Tl 5AT and was beat by an 08 civis si sedan...but then again..im stock..and he got the jump..from a roll..who knows.

YeuEmMaiMai 06-19-2008 05:49 PM

it will be close but you'll beat him if you know how to launch the car.

I beaten one before on a stock cl-s

Jabodacious 06-20-2008 11:03 AM

Looking at dragtimes.com the '07 stock Civic Si is running 14.9 and a 14.6 with just cat-back.

DRIVERS RACE! Get-r-done!

YL Al 06-20-2008 11:33 AM

 you'll kill him 100% ...well it depends on how far of a distance you guys go,i say shut down at 70mph-80mph you should have 1/2 car + on him by then

chris_cl3.0 06-21-2008 10:42 AM

maybe he jump on first and second gear but when he hit third hes all yours!!!!!!

DaInFaMMuS1 06-21-2008 11:08 AM

Its a drivers race. If you know what you're doing, being that you have an auto theres less margin chance of an error for you. You can beat him.

jaysizzlecity 06-21-2008 09:41 PM

No way he can beat you...

cbusAcuracls 06-21-2008 09:55 PM

Low end you will pull hard on him (they have no torque).. and by high end he will be able to keep the same distance. Just a guess but I think you will take him by at least a car to around 100 mph.

YL Al 06-21-2008 10:18 PM

^ ya torque is really important,i raced my friend and he had 10 more torque than me,he pulled so hard first but then my vtec kicked in and i had him after 40 mph.just floor on auto and you should be good.

j/k.

AznX TL 06-22-2008 07:38 AM

definitely a drivers race. but even though you have more tq than him, the 6-speed lsd transmission comes in handy from a dig. and they've also been known to pull 0-60 in 6.3secs with an excellent driver.

SatinSilverAV6 06-22-2008 12:10 PM

Those little SI's are fast for what they are. There is one guy that ran a 14.1@99MPH in his stock Civic SI. Here is the link....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fhWtt...eature=related

It will be a drivers race. Most people can't break out of the high 14's to low 15's.

gc86 06-22-2008 03:56 PM

Dont underestimate the K20. We have a ton more torque than they do but power to ratio is king. I raced a stock sedan Si at the track when I had my TL-S and didn't know how to launch, he jumped on me but I eventually passed him and hit the quarter mile about a length and a half in front of him.

Dicorp 06-24-2008 09:51 AM

driver's race. those little fuckers are quick. make sure your tranny doesnt take a :turd:

wow he got mad hater on youtube lol. even when showing the time slip and that there was no mods done to the car. i dont like when haters try to discredit people's proven accomplishments. If they cant prove it thats another story. But anyway, SI is damn quick, better be on your toes to be able to pull 'em

you should be keeping up with SIs now that you've swapped an h23vtec. Get it tuned yet?

LIPPSTUH 06-24-2008 02:40 PM

i killed one with my mods... up at 60 had 2 cars

I actually found the video of this run, my friend stops recording early for some reason but you get the point. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ypy0...p;feature=user

nbennettksu 06-27-2008 05:11 PM

i smoked one on the interstate, i'm in a cl-p!! I do however have just about every bolt on though...

don't be a girl, just race him already.

Sideswipe 06-27-2008 07:59 PM

The 07' Civic Si is a pussy ass car. I made a thread topic about racing one a while back. It is a somewhat quick little car--I'll give it that much. But that car has NO top end. I have bone stock 02' CL-S and pulled away from that punk bastard like he was standing still when traffic finally cleared for me to pass him. If we raced from zero in no traffic I would have killed him from the get-go.

RYANGP 06-28-2008 11:41 PM

you should beat him.

i raced my friend's si with my Cl-P and lost once by half a car length and the second time smoked him by at least two. With a CLS it should be no question.

02CL-TypeS 06-29-2008 01:12 PM

there is a couple vids on youtube....CL-S wins

horsepowercrzy18 06-29-2008 01:38 PM

kill

I obliterated an si sooo bad and they had intake exhaust. there nottt that fast! Our cars are just beastly! race him for money ;)

nova_G 06-30-2008 08:43 AM

i think its a drivers race with the edge to the CL-S. when i had my bone stock 01-CL-S i raced a friends bone stock 06-Si from a dig, 1st race was dead even till 3rd and i pulled 1 car length, 2nd race he spun too much and got him by 4+ cars, 3rd race he had a good launch and i spun a little too much and it was even till 110. i dont think one car should "smoke" the other as long as there are equal drivers

iforyou 06-30-2008 12:55 PM

wow 14.1s@99mph with a stock Civic Si, I'm highly impressed!

the guy that ran the 14.1 @ 99mph with a stock Civic SI is on 8thcivic.com i think his name was jameslewis or imauthenticftw something like that. anyways he has a thread that is like a BILLION pages long on how people says his times are BS. the track he went to was cecil county dragway which is an amazingly FAST track. A member from g35driver.com ran a 13.7 @ 102 bone stock. personally, i believe him only if he would admit there was a STRONG tail wind or at least ONE mod. hes also ran a 13.1 all motor compared to the 13.6-13.9 that the a lot of all motor SI's ran. reason why i somewhat doubt him is because he refuses to list his mods so no one can so called "steal his car" but never the less one mod or no mod a 14.1 is damn good for a "stock" civic si.

iforyou 07-02-2008 05:12 PM

yeaaaa, normally they run 14.8, just like a 2nd gen TL-S. I could never imagine my car running 14.1! I mean, the CTR on best Motoring only got 14.6s!

02CL-TypeS 07-02-2008 05:28 PM

he's got to have a tune, a pulley, or something. I don't believe it is stock...STOCK is an just off the lot and taken the the drag strip

AznX TL 07-02-2008 06:34 PM

no one is gonna take their car straight to the track without breaking in the engine.

02CL-TypeS 07-02-2008 07:44 PM

thats not I meant lol :smash: . I meant that the car shouldn't have anything done to it...the same specs as if it was off the lot.

a guy from e90post.com did that and ran a 13.9 with less than 200 miles and complained as to why his time was so slow.. haha
