Reputable Acura Dealers in Chicagoland
Would anybody recommend an Acura dealer in Chicagoland based on his/her experience? I have '03 CL with SRS light going off twice a month and I can't keep up with resetting it every time. I read that this issue is covered by an extended warranty and I am thinking about going to an Acura dealership to get the passenger seat belt buckle replaced free of charge. I am in Addison but I am willing to drive around for as long as I know that the dealer is decent. Ed Napleton is nearby but I do not have a good opinion about their service department. However, I must say nice things about the Parts Dept which I have used twice and everything came out just fine. Kudos to Chip (I think that is his name) for that.
Besides, it would be nice for all of us from Chicagoland to know which Acura dealers score well and which ones do not. That way, we can help each other stay away from the bogus stealerships:-)
Thanks in advance

The Used car manager at the Mcgrath Acura of Westmont dealer, was a dick. Gave me the biggest problems, till I talked to the General Manager cause that guy refused to fix my issue, with my TL. Liked Ed Napelton better, but they didn't have the TL I wanted when I was shopping for a car.

Muller's Woodfield Acura seems to be the best place to get work done. They're very mod-friendly and their customer service is beyond awesome! They're waiting room also has a multi-flavor coffee dispenser.. unlike the rest of the Acura's I've been too with just the plain 'ol bitter coffee.
Morton Grove Acura is the worst place to get your Acura serviced, stay away from them. Alex, find a different dealer to go to.

I also know the Parts Manager @ Arlington Acura in Palatine, where I originally purchased my car. I can get fairly good discounts off OEM parts.. just thought I'd share that tid-bit of information.

Hmm...didn't have a problem buying my TSX at Muller's Woodfield Acura. But did have a problem when they failed to realize that my warped rotors needed to be replaced...twice. Ended up going to Zimbrick Acura up in Madison.

I forgot to mention, I have a $500 or $1000 gift/discount card to McGrath Acura. Its pretty much a 15% discount card thing that has a balance up to $500 or $1000. I forget, but I have the letter laying around somewhere explaining what it is. If anyone wants it, I'll sell it to them for $50.. and yes, this card is transferable. Good for getting your car serviced, or purchasing OEM parts.

..maybe. I'm pretty sure all my cars gonna need is the timing belt replaced, maybe A/C filters and check out suspension parts. Everything else should be in good, working condition. So I rly have no use for it.. plus, it only works @ McGrath Acura in Morton Grove.
Oh yah Tom, that fucking chick still keeps txt'n me..

Dealers perform about 4-5 different functions:
1) new car sales
2) used car sales
3) service
3b) waiting room for service
4) parts
5) body shop (most Acura dealers don't do this)
I've found that rarely are dealers good at all four of them. McGrath in Westmont has a great service department, but their parts are WAY overpriced. I've had good luck buying from Woodfield, but they tried to screw me on my timing belt service.
The point is that when you get a dealer review from someone else, you need to figure out which of those functions they are actually reviewing. Could just be they like the dealer due to item (3b) in my list above. Or it could be they hate the used car salesman, but otherwise the dealer is great.

Thats f'n BS!! Acura of Westmont can suck a fat one. I took my car in for my fog lamps not coming on. They declined to fix the issue with them because the bulbs were not OEM. They were the correct watt rating and bulbs bought from a Auto Parts store by the previous owner. I also bought this car certified with the bulbs already in there.
