Yellow cars would you buy one
I live in an Area where half the year its dark and raining. Driving something of a cheerful color seems like a good idea. What is the general consensus on yellow cars? Hard as hell to resell? The looks appeal fades quickly? Orange is another " happy" color such as on the 09 SI. I like that one too.

personally not into the "yellow" thing.
Are you kidding?? I would NEVER buy a yellow car!

I was *this* close to buying a '03 NSX (yellow/yellow). But then the wife had another opinion on it.
Hey -- doesn't matter where you live. As long as you like it ... that's all that really matters. Depending on the car, it shouldn't be too difficult to sell it (ie Ferrari, Lambo, etc) under normal market conditions. At this point in time ... it's a buyer's market and you can have a lot of leverage on the final price. :) |
I never plan on owning a yellow car personally, but I will say that certain shades look better than others and the colour looks more passable on some cars (and awful on others).
I'd personally take orange over yellow, and by orange I mean this orange:

I personally would never own a yellow or orange car. Just not my thing. Some cars look ok in those colors, others really do not.
But a nice darker yellow, like mustard yellow or something. |
The only possible exception I have with buying yellow car is when it comes to the E36 M3, which for some reason looks ok to me in Dakar Yellow.
That aside, yellow is a deal breaker for me. |
My friend is having a very hard time trying to sell his 02 yellow S2K. The only car I like in Yellow is the ITR.

:yum: Yellow ITR.
the gto in yellow looks pretty sweet. it just needs to be a sports car
ITR and S2K only.
Yellow will pass on expensive/exotic cars, but not the more common ones.
I can't pull off yellow.
I wouldn't buy a yellow car, but some make it look good.. i.e. the S4

Sure why not. At least you'll be able to find your yellow car when it's covered with snow. lol
I would buy either yellow or bright orange-- no metallic or "burnt" orange-- but only for pure sports cars, Italian or American exotics (Ford GT, Saleens) and muscle cars.

If it was a smoking deal on an exotic I was buying and everything else was right about the car, I would buy yellow, otherwise, no way.
:ugh: no yellow please.
I am still unsure if I'm a "yellow car guy." As you know, was seriously contemplating a yellow NSX.... All depends on the car and the type of yellow.
it would have to be a sporty car to have happy colors like that.
S2k yes. Otherwise, not really my style.
The yellow S2k noted above is tough to sell because the economy is bad and that kind of car is a second or third car--a luxury. |
Yellow on a car.... Maybe. I'd buy yellow if it was a good deal on a nice car, like a Ferrari, or Lamborghini. Reasons:
1. Flamboyant - it draw attention 2. Depth - yellow just sticks out, it doesn't reflect like dark colors, nor shine like white. 3. Fade - its easy to see when a yellow car fades 4. Names - I don't want to be called a school bus. |
Not my cup of tea.
Depends on the car. For an everyday car,...NO.
For a nice sports car like a Porsche, NSX, S2K, Ferrari, etc etc etc,....yes. |
depends highly on the car, and not one of my first choices, even for the super cars etc.. so many other colors i would want instead
On certain cars, like Gallardo, Porsche, Ferrari, and an S4. My buddy has a yellow Dakota and I hate him every time I see it.
some cars yes. other cars make me question the drivers sexuality.
i like orange waaay more than yellow. |

Depends on the car. I'd rock a yellow Lamborghini Diablo, Murcielago, Ferrari, Corvette, Porsche, you name it.... but a yellow TL or TSX? :puke:
