My local Mini dealer has this car, it's a demo with 1,400 miles on it. I'm currently in negotiations with them in trying to get it. A friend of mine has a hard-on for my GTI and wants to take over my lease. I have exactly 5 months left on it. I really don't need this, but I would only consider it if I can steal it. Not to mention that it's an oddball car, w/o leather and it doesn't even have a sunroof...I pretty much lowballed my rep on the price with the premise that I will take it next week if need be, she's going to speak to her manager and get back to me Monday..

Hypocrites....
Red isn't really my first choice, but I may as well get it out of my system and say I've owned a red car some time in my life...You know me, i'm always into bold colors...remember my yellow xBox?
If I had a choice, i'd equip my JCW like this...
Mellow Yellow with the "Factory Aero Kit", not "JCW Aero Kit":

This much I know...that's why I've hesitated getting one...but the JCW doesn't have a different stock suspension than the S model unless you get the sport suspension option. The ride of the Clubman is definately better than the standard coupe...and lastly the stiff ride is also the last reason why I'm hesitating leasing it for long term because I know I'll get sick of the overly stiff ride...

Compared to my old Cooper...my GTI rides like a Caddy
The Cooper ride didn't bother me...it was stiff....but then it handled like a dream!!!
...just don't be surprised by it...that's all.....and so long as you have driven it...you know how it feels.
IMHO the way the car handles far outweighs the "downside" of the stiff ride.

I've driven both the new model and the old one. My uncle has an '08 S, which one day we swapped cars, he loved the ride and power of my car, especially appreciated the smooth ride of my car(even with the lowering springs installed). Me on the other hand, I liked the ride of his car but hated the power (even though it's lighter than my car, can't compare the engine to the 200hp/200tq of the fantastic 2.0T motor), which is why I told myself I would only consider a Mini if it was the JCW. The only other thing I hated about his car was the sport button that adjusts the throttle sensitivity. When off, is almost too lazy, but when on is too sensitive. Then again I only drove it for an hour that day, so couldn't really get used to it in the short ride I had it for.

I just ran it by the wife, she wasn't positive or negative about it, probably because she likes the Mini. If she knew how much I was paying though, she'd probably kill me. I will only accept the car if they meet my price. If not, I won't do it...

That's what I was thinking.... not on a demo car. Who knows, could have been countless jackasses, salesmen or customers alike who abuse the shit out of it, like flooring it before its warmed up, shifting improperly, etc.

At some point I think i'll make my way to the dealer this week or next to look at it and drive it to make sure I can deal with the ride, providing they agree to my pricing...
