Testing the waters here. If you had $30K for a car....what would you buy?

I would recommend a slightly used SVT Cobra but I see you already seem to have that.

I chose the TSX, but I probably would go with something a little bigger next time.

06 TSX. The Eclispe wouldn't even be on my radar.

Or spend alittle more and get a 06 IS250.

Depends what you want it for, but for the all around package I think its hard to beat the TSX. The TSX is not the best at anything, but is such a well balanced package of handling, luxury, fuel economy, residual value, reliablity. Its not a "fast" car, in particular with an auto, but is not bad with the 6 speed, then there are some mods that can make it a little better, with out going crazy or spending an arm and a leg.

If you want a faster car its not a problem, but your going to loose some luxury, and fuel economy.

Right now I think the Accord Hybrid is one of the BEST cars around $30k, if you don't want a "sporty" car.

Currently I'm waiting it out for the new TSX to come out and then decide what I want to do.

I've been looking at the A3 (fully loaded came to about $33K but probably cheaper) and who knows what the 06 tsx will be priced at so just have to wait.

But now that I'm married and planning ahead for a family I need to get a four door. So the TSX, TL and A3 look very enticing.

2006 Acura TSX is gonna be "tits" is right, a lot of really useful features are gonna be added on. If you're going for a faster car though, why not try a Legacy GT?

I'm not sure many people on this board would seriously consider an eclipse gt if they had to look for a new car.
I'd wait to see if the 06 TSX was cool, otherwise I'd save up some $ and go up to the IS or TL.

How about a Volvo S40 T5? Or maybe a tC and use the rest in mods? Off-lease G? Too many choices.

1.) Legacy GT (for performance)
2.) '06 TSX & IS250 (for overall package)
3.) GTO (Balls out power and easily modded)

Out of the TSX or Eclipse GT, I'd go with the TSX... I don't think I could ever buy a mitsubishi..

Or a used G35c.... If I was going to by a daily driver...

Now if we are talking a summer only garage queen, For $35K this caught my eye:

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/showt...hreadid=236191

And this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=4568850244

Or buy a 993 C4 and drive it thru the winter (awd with blizzacks should work ok)

I'm almost 40, so I'll need a sportcar for my midlife crisis (and I'll have to start dating girls half my age too)
.

Champagne tastes on a beer budget... Yep, the tail would have to go (the owner would include the stock rear deck).

I wouldn't get a used (B5) S4, not without a good extended warrenty. The turbos liked to go at the tune of a 8k repaor bill. Not to mention they are being stolen everywhere.

I vote Legacy GT. Those things are hot.

For the money, the Legacy GT is probably the best pick...but it's a matter of taste, of course. It's a great looking car, has great performance numbers, is priced right and has the interior space most people need.

Used STI, no question! Friend of a friend has one and took me for a ride. I was more impressed by the brakes than the speed! Brembo's... stock! 4 pistions in the front and 2 in the back.....
