Which would you pick: 2009 G37x sedan or 2009 Acura TL
I've been looking for a sporty four door family car for me for a while now and have it broken down to two specific cars. Both have their pluses and minuses and I don't think I could go wrong with either one but am having a tough time picking one. The max I wanted to spend is $25K (well, was $20K but I was able to convince my wife to stretch it) Which of these two would you pick?
2009 Infiniti G37x Sedan
$24,500
Black
48,500 miles
Balance of 6 yr/60,000 mile warranty
Plus:
The 3.7L V6 with 7-speed auto hauls arse
AWD for midwestern winters
Stylish inside and out (wife calls it sexy)
Black looks great
Firm comfortable ride - soaked up the bumps really well without being harsh
Steering was really well weighted and direct
Handles great
Sports car disguised as a family car
Stereo sounded great
Gas mileage would be respectable (18 city/25 hwy) as long as I'm not always putting my foot into it
Minor but I really like the push button start
Cons:
Base model so no navi or hands free phone (I don't have these features now so I don't know if I'd really want them)
Interior styling might start to get dated
Black hard to keep clean
Not certified (not sure if this is an issue though)
2009 Acura TL with Tech package
$26,500
Silver
39,273 miles
Certified to 100,000 miles from in service date
Plus:
I've owned 5 Acuras so as soon as I got into this car I felt at home
Bright, airy, roomy interior
I like the interior styling
Tech package which has navi (doubt I'd even use it) but with the navi I get a backup camera (like this)
Surround sound stereo sounded good (Infiniti was a bit stronger to me) and has hard drive to save music to (never had this but sounds good)
Ride was really smooth
Engine was peppy (not the rocket the Infiniti was though)
18 city/25 hwy isn't bad
I like the styling of the back of the car
Cons:
No AWD
Only a 5-speed auto
Costs more than I wanted to spend
Steering was a little lighter than I expected - on centering not that great
When mashing the throttle while driving the transmission hesitates way to long to downshift
The styling of the front of the car
So I'm ready to go in and buy this weekend. Which would you choose and why?

Another biased opinion...G37X
I still can't get over the power/handling of my G. It's intoxicating.
If you can find one with Premium and/or Tech it will be well worth it. The toys are very fun!
Is this really an acura forum?

Been to Infiniti of Manhattan twice, both very good experiences. Just as good service as when I went to my local Acura dealers

BTW in my car search I also considered and drove the following:
VW CC 2.0T (couldn't find a decent VR6 to try)
36,000 miles
$23,500
Plus:
Good looking car
Comfortable ride
Seats were comfortable
Interior was nice
Steering was light and accurate though not very sporty
Shifts were smooth
Cons:
Ride was a bit soft
Only seats 2 in the back
Engine not very powerful
Overall:
Tried it because the wife thinks they look good but was never really a contender.
Lexus IS250 AWD (Hard to find an IS350 to compare)
36,000 miles
$24,999
Plus:
Very sporty looking
AWD
Interior styling
Lot's of features - hands free phone, driver passenger memory seats, heated and cooled front seats, power rear window shade, paddle shifters, and on and on
Tight steering
Cons:
Slow
Cramped interior front and back
Wife thought the interior looked cheap and plasticy
Ride was way too busy - felt every dip in the road - probably because of the stiff shocks and short wheelbase
Controls were confusing
Did I mention slow?
Overall:
Thought this could be the wild card of the group but the lack of power and cramped interior made my decision to pass an easy one. It is a nice car though just not for me.

G37x only because it has AWD and you live in Milwaukee.
Other than that, the TL has better technology, better build quality and materials, more room, quieter and smoother ride, better sound system by far, better warranty, etc... It all just depends on what your needs are.

IS250 AWD is incredibly slow compare to G37x.
VW CC is pretty stylish.
But I would still choose a G37X over all other choices.

I wouldn't buy a G37 that didn't have Bluetooth or Hands-free.
The G37 is also "sportier" in that it lets more exhaust noise into the cabin compared to the TL, but I prefer its interior to the 4G TL.
The 4G TL is a bigger car, too.
That said, I'd recommend a 2008 TL-S over all of your choices.

As far as sound systems, try and get the G37 with the BOSE studio on wheels system. It's Tits and I love it. Good lows and highs with decent bass. Little to no distortion at high volume.
Can't beat the 10" Subs in each of my front doors

If it was a 08 TL-S 6MT, I would have picked that one over G37 as well.

Here is a quick run I did a while back while testing my camera mount
Nothing special and note that the G37 will be just slightly faster (arguable due to the 7AT Tranny)
0-60 ~5.8 sec Probably would have been quicker with VDC off

I voted for the G, but I also pointed out reasons that might appeal to him (as a daily driver) to pick the TL. We don't all drive our cars in a constant state of WOT.

Sure, if speed is priority. Looks are subjective as the OP has stated he actually likes it (minus the front). Sure, build quality and materials are comparable, but comparable doesn't mean equal.
