Would you keep or trade???
ok hear is the deal....I have a 97 acura cl and its in pretty good condition but my hubby says it needs to go. My thing is that its paid off and i kind of like paying a car note that is going to my savings account. we have a truck so its not like we just have to get a new car but he says the transmission is on its way out again. ok i replaced the transmission in like 03' but even if i have to do it again, it still beats paying a note right???? opinions please...

I misread...the tranny on the CL is getting ready to go again....

yeah it's cool to have a new car but the sucky part it when you're paying on it. plus insurance is higher on newer cars.
as long as it runs good , and you like it I'd say fix it and keep it.

If getting this tranny means the car will last another 3 years, you can split that cost over the three years and see that it will be far less than the cost of a new vehicle.

Mazda3 and Honda Civic in
I got rid of my 97 3.0CL last January beacause the tranny went out. I TOTALLY regret that, I could have gotten a small loan for the tranny then pay it off in 6 months and still have the damn thing and NO car note. KEEP IT!!!!!!!!!!!

well today we actually decided to get an Acura MDX so we are going to trade in the Durango. Its pretty sweet, black on black with the navigator. I think we will just hold onto the CL as a second hand. Thanks for your opinions, the wife always wins!!

Keep the car you like and fix the transmission. Having no car payment at all is MUCH better than starting all over again paying on a car you will not like as much as the one you already have.
