Quote: you like the audi, so i'd start with pricing the avant or Q5 now.

if i'm able to afford all 3 cars easily, i'd go with the Q5. then the avant.
i meant i'd go with the avant and then the Q5.

Quote: Op, what's your budget?

Q5 ($38,175):
premium plus ($4,050), navi ($3,000), B&O ($850), and 19" wheels ($800) = $46,875.

A4 Avant ($36,175):
Premium plus ($3,500), navi ($2,500), B&O ($850) =$43,025

There is no wheel upgrade for A4... either you can get 18" sport package or 19" sport package.

let me know if you need any help..
Hi! Based on what I wanted, the Q5 would be around $47,350 and the A4 Avant would be around $44,000. The price is OK either way. It's just a matter of what I really wanted.... the A4 is much sportier but noisier (don't get me wrong! it's still quiet, but just when comparing it to the Q5, you will notice the difference), while the Q5 has a nicer ride and interior. However, it does feel a little heavier on the get go. Surprisingly, the Premium Plus trim for both vehicles actually have different contents. You get more with the Q5. For instance, you don't even get auto dim mirrors with the A4 at this price!!! Isn't that outrageous?

Anyway, you can get the 18" wheels for the A4 Avant, though it's not shown on their website car builder.

The Q5 has more interior space purely because it's so much taller. You know, when I saw the photos I loved the Q5 but when I saw it in person, it always struck me as BIG vehicle.... I think that's because I was seeing it as a hot hatch in the photos but in real life it is a small SUV.... LOL

Anyway, both are super nice cars.... decision, decision.....

Have you guys seen the A4 Avant in Brilliant Red? Is that hot or what!?

Forget the A4... crappy engine for the price. Yes I know the product very well, thank you.

Get the Q5 and its great 3.2L V6 engine; a much better fit for 45 larges.

^ you again huh? are you always looking for these Audi A4 threads to just bash the shit out of it? It's fun huh? You think it's just a small 4 banger huh? Why did Audi kill its 3.2 V6 from A4 lineup? Why? You know nothing. Please stop bashing on the engine you know nothing of.

I certainly know more than you. How many Audi Turbo Quattro did you own? Zero. Well I bought one and regretted it. Get lost now, kid. And let people have their opinion. Whether you agree or not, I couldn't care less.

His girlfriend owns one. A 2010 A4 Avant 2.0T.

Why can't you just admit you're a grumpy bastard and just go back to the Bimmerzine boards and bash Audi there?

No one is really interested in the opinion of someone with an axe to grind.

Please share what you know about the motor, or the car for the matter.

If you care not to, STFU and get the eff out of here. Don't come in a thread and have nothing to back up your claim except for "I know more about it than you."

A4 Avant. Audi makes by far the sexiest wagons, they look amazing. That said Ibis White or Brilliant Black or GTFO.

Has Audi improved their steering feel at all since the early 2000's? The Audi I had driven felt a bit like a Lexus the steering was so light.

Ibis White FTW!

If only more people saw wagon's as great alternatives to owning an SUV. But of course, the extra seating space is needed by a majority of fat America.

Hey retard, I chose the Q5, just not the A4. I didn't bash Audi which is a brand I generally like.

BTW, many others agree that the 2.0T is not a good engine for a car in this class. Also the V6 has close to 270HP and is really a great engine.

Two thoughts. Is there any possibility Audi will release an S-Line Titanium package like they had on the B7? The S-Line Titanium Package was one of the things that really made the B7 stand out, it looked amazing configured that way. The current B8 just looks way too tame for my liking, something I've never been a fan of regardless of what kind of car it is.

What I originally was going to say is that as I've found out French Canadians are assholes. Saintor just further proves that.

Do you feel better now, small pea? At 19, we understand that you haven't grown up yet; it certainly shows.

If the price isn't the issue then I would say go with Q5.

09 A4 and A4 Avant used to offer memory seats and auto dimming mirror on Premium plus, but they took that away in 10 model.

You know you'd sound more convincing if you didn't post just one review that doesn't like the engine. Where are these "many others"?

They did the same thing with the '07 and '08 model. The '06 2.0T came with memory seats but the '07 and '08 didn't. They retained the memory seats in the 3.2 A4's for '07-'08 as far as I know. What sucked is that by removing that, it also removed the auto-tilt feature for the side mirror when you're in reverse.

That was one thing that left a sore spot after our purchase. I didn't understand how such a common feature these days was removed from a car touted to be luxurious. Now for them to remove it from the much more expensive B8 platform boggles my mind even more. I don't understand why they remove a feature that is available in so many luxury cars. Does that feature cost them that much money that they need to remove it completely knowing that it works in previous models.

Very good question.

I need to swap one of the wheels on my car, had to get a tire patched, and the other friggin wheel I curbed.

Other than that, if we can choose a date I'll know when to get a nice wash/wax for the shoot.

Where would you want to do the shoot?
