World's fastest Police Car!
Abu-Dhabi deemed that it was necessary to get something quick enough to catch Veyrons and Koenigsegg in the desert.

I never really understood the purpose for these ridiculous law enforcement vehicles.
So maybe 25 people within the whole country are speeding excessively to the point a vehicle like this is necessary to catch them. But what is it preventing, how is it making people safer from these drivers? You're going to have a police car chase someone at 150+mph and then if you catch them give them a fine?
The only thing I see from this is a police officer putting his or herself in a vary precarious situation just to chase someone down to issue them a fine and/or arrest them for reckless driving.
How does this benefit the state and or the people who share the same roads as the crazy speeder?
What people are not understanding is you are spending ludicrous amounts of money to try to nab speeders and cite them for speeding and issue them fines. THIS DOES NOT PREVENT ANYTHING! IT DOESN'T SAVE LIVES AND IT SURELY DOESN'T STOP PEOPLE FROM SPEEDING. What it does is give the state a small check for $100~300. But what they've spent to receive that check is millions of dollars in technology and equipment.
If you really want to stop the fucking speeders or want to make the roads safe for others, I'd suggest have making it increasingly more difficult to obtain a drivers license or mandate that no vehicle be able to exceed certain speeds via a GPS guided ECU system. (For instance the R35 GT-R is limited to 155mph unless you're on a track and it's GPS verified and then its raised to 200mph). You implement the same technology so on certain roads you could not go over 10mph the posted limit for instance.
The problem is these days that no one thinks rationally or uses cost benefit analysis to make better decisions.

That's nuts. And I agree that in most cases it is unnecessary. But if you figure a car passes a stationary cop car at 120 mph, it will take that cop about 15 seconds to react, pull into traffic and get up to 60 mph, and another 15 seconds to get to 120. By that time, the speeder is a mile away. What if the speeder is going 150? Or the cop cannot get moving fast enough?

All that for a fucking car? No wonder those places are starting to lost money....

I shoot people
them Dubai people are just silly with their money

Yeah this is really taking it too far, but have you guys seen those Dubai drifting videos? There are people (well, oil barons/heirs most likely) drifting their Carrera GTs and Enzos across 4-5 lanes of TRAFFIC. What do you think happens when they see that Holden or E-Class police car in the rear view? PEACE!
Flawed logic, but maybe they think having a huge press party showing off their new F1 pursuit vehicle will make those people think twice, or at least give them a fighting chance to chase them down? I have no idea. I think most people have at least a general idea of what an F1 car is capable of.

Alrighty then. And we are still wondering why Abu Dhabi/Dubai World is needing a bailout from the UAE (and yes I know it's from the collapse of the business real estate market, but still....) What a horrific waste of money.

Oh yeah! I'd like to see a cop in that pull off a pit maneuver.
That said, just another form of middle eastern oil driven profligacy....that is until the rest of the world's populace commits to alternative fuel sources.

Yea, I never understand the purpose of cars like this either and what are the chances this car is close enough to the one person going 120. I mean how many people really speed that excessively and I am assuming you can't have F1 or supercars every where. If the car is 15 miles away, the chase is a moot point

BIG TIME thread resurrection. ...anyway, helicopters, radios and Dodge Chargers fit the bill in the scenario stated above.

Lamborghini has always given a couple cars to the Italian police to use as a demo/show car. Been doing it for years and I'm pretty sure they're given as a donation.
