Nice...

Rich, you can always try to get an extended warrenty thru AAA to. A friend of mine did that when he bought a used minivan, and it was cheaper then thru the dealer.

no kidding, are they worth it?
the only thing i am not experienced with is the 4wd system. i had a nissan frontier 4wd but i beat the shit out of that and a hub went bad. i know these things are real reliable and wasnt sure if a warranty is really worth it

Congrats man. You should consider yourself really lucky your wife is willing to drive an suv. Mine, she won't even touch one with a 10ft pole This was one reason I got rid of my 04 MDX. Man I really miss the suv thing now. Can't wait to get another as soon as her 2002 Altima is gone and she can take the TL. Actually come to think of it I'll be waiting a looong while cause just to avoid me trading that damn pos in, she went and paid it off!! All I could say was "that was cruel."

I had one of these before. The 4WD system is very easy to use. Basically your Runner is on full time RWD, you can drop it into 4WD High at speeds up to 50 mph. This is good because you never know when you will need that added traction on rainy or icy days. As for 4WD Low, you don't really use that unless your in mud, dirt, or heavy snow, in other words, off road. You got a very nice SUV there, very reliable and a work horse. Good luck.

Nice 4 runner ya got there dallison. The silver package looks really good on that. What silverUA5 said about the 4wd system is right on the spot. If not, maybe look into some bfg all terrains if you do get a lil worried about the grip/traction whatnot...

well i know that some of the tires are more aggressive than i might want, so i have gone onto the tirerack and have looked at some of the reviews and the geolanders and the khumos are rated pretty good, so we are just trying to decide what to go with.
i picked up a k&n filter today and new batteries for the remotes.
i love new vehicles.

I got a 02 Tundra 4x4 regular cab with the 4.7 I-force V-8 for the lawn matience business. I like the truck but hate my dealer who sold it to me.
It's a big improvement over the Dodge 1/2 ton 4x4 we replaced it with which ate transmission like a fat kid ate cake.
The reason my dealer ticked me off was #1. I took it in for the 30,000 mile warrenty(my friend has a 01 Limited Ext cab Tundra with the same motor) had the same job done to it. it was 400 bucks.(they change all the fluids, they basically go clear through it. even clean the injectors with fluid. my buddy's was 350 with tax.
mine was 1000 without tax. but i had to have the rear brake pads replaced/adjusted and a serpintine belt replaced. I WAS TICKED that they charged over 600 bucks to put on 2 brake pads/put on a belt.
plus when they cleaned the injectors they had had some fluid "hang up" in the manifold. so the check engine light kept on coming on. so i had to take back to them(which is an hour each way. ) then after on the way home after getting the injectors cleaned CORRECTLY. the O2 sesors (which my buddy had changed while he 30k inspection/service for free.) went out on the way home (they were closed by the time I got home. so I called them up. they said I was going to have to pay for it and all this B.S. I said LIKE HELL I'M PAYING FOR IT. you guys already butt f#cked me on the service i think you can eat the cost to fix the 02 senor. so finally after 2 hours of raising hell (including talking to the manager of parts and the owner of the dealership(which we bought it new there) they finally fixed it for free.
but overall i've been happy with the truck: it lately(when not in 4x4 ) been getting 20 m p g unloaded on interstate and on cruise. which is pretty good for a full size 4x4 V-8 full size.
