Depends on the car, I prefer cloth though generally. In Camaros the cloth interior is terrible. I know, the Camaro interior isn't the best looking either way, just save it.... 
I happen to think the velour-like seats in my dad's old 1990 Maxima were PIMP! Really comfy, soft to the touch and it looked nice. It did have a funny, faint smell to it though. Leather is easy to clean but it looks like ass when its all wrinkly and chafed up, and eventually ripped. Most people have a driver's side bolster that looks like ass, or a seat cushion that looks like someone that was way too fat sat on it for a really long time. I like cloth because it can hold its original shape for a really long time.

but my favorite all-time seats are the JDM ITR Recaros.... black suede with red stitching.
They had some weird fabric in the inserts but it was really comfortable. Honestly though I prefer seat comfort and holding ability more than anything, nothing worse than a hard-as-a-rock seat like MBs or sliding back and forth in the corners.
With all that said, my next car probably will have leather.
Not by choice but chances are it won't have those sweet black suede seats with red stitching that I really like.
T-tops > targa > roadster > sunroof > hardtop > shit flinging spoon > convertible. T-tops... its like a convertible, minus the gheyness.

My past five cars have all had leather, but they've all been luxury cars. I don't think you can get a MB, BMW, Audi, Lexus, etc. with cloth seats unless you special/custom order it. If I end up getting another luxury car to replace my RL, it would probably have heated & cooled seats, so the choice isn't a big deal. I also agree, that leather is easier to take care of. I've got a dog that sheds badly and it's easy to clean up after having him in the car. On the other hand, when I take him in my dad's car with cloth seats, getting all the fur out is a nightmare.

I really dont mind at all..like if i found the perfect 240 but with cloth instead of leather id still jump on it, no problem with the cloth, although saddle brown leather is teh pimp

Definately YES. I hate cloth seats. Leather may be bit hot in the summer, but I can deal with it. The cold does not bother me at all, even without the heated seats.
I had to get the cars we have now with leather. I kept looking just to make sure we did. I can't imagine cleaning milk, juice and food off cloth seats with the kid.

Leather all the way. I can't stand touching the current cloth/fabric texture. Tinted windows help in the summer, along with ventilated/cooled seating option. I'm also not naked when driving.

^ Theres always fake leather. The leatherette in the BMWs hold up really well.
I never had issues with real leather. I will clean and condition them 3 times a year. My dads RL leather looks great even after 7 years thanks to me.
My brothers RX300 on the other hand all flaked off since he never did anything.

thinking more, the only time I wouldn't care about leather if it was a race seat or a good varient.
