Only thing that sucks is they had a front plate on the MDX. Indiana doesn't have a front plate law and of course the plate holder was drilled through the bumper. Nothing that a couple of small nylon plugs and some touch up paint can't fix, however...

Toyota Highlanders is very nice. you can get a used one for a decent price. I had 2007 highlander limited 3.3 V6 All wheel drive and got 20 mpg average which i think is good for a SUV in that size

paz840 - What made you sell your Q7 for an MDX? Just curious.

i was throughly unimpressed by the 2012 model of the pathfinder. cheap materials on the interior and kind of boring.

In the same boat as OP. Mom is looking to trade in her RX330 for something with more cargo room. Going tomorrow to check out the new Infiniti JX which is everything we are looking for on paper. I think it looks pretty too

We will also check out the Audi Q7, RX350, Enclave, and the MDX, but she is not fond about driving a car with not-so-hot mileage. (16MPG ) Keep in mind this is the same person who failed to get anything better than 17MPG city in the TL when she had it...

While I do like the Durango a lot. I have a soft spot for the pathfinder. I did own for 6 years from 167k to 215k of great driving experience.

I also just had a Ford Flex rental (specifically requested) for the last 3 days on a family trip and I am pretty impressed. My father was just given a new explorer as a rental...its loaded and its very impressive, though Im not sure I like the ride itself that much.

So, you can all attempt the mopar comments, but "mopar or no car" has never applied to me. And still does not.

If I thought you knew what you were talking about maybe...but in this case, I'll go ahead and say they sure are.

And perhaps I will when the lease on my prius is up in a year. I have a whole list of choices to look at when its time.

no need to be a jerk about it. it's a forum and people are here to voice opinions. just b/c you have a "soft spot" for pathfinders, you attack me for no reason whatsoever other than the fact i stated my opinion based on MY experience. people went bad mouthing the JX and nobody got their shit bent out of shape. it's not like a said a pathfinder was a POS. it's a solid car with a demographic that supports it well, but AFTER my experience, it's not a car i would want to purchase/own b/c it doesn't match my tastes or preferences in what i want out of a vehicle. if you don't like what i have to say then ignore it or justify your smart ass remarks without being a jerk.

oh i get it...it's b/c i'm a girl and i dont' know shit about boy stuff.
i should go play in the kitchen, clean the house, and do the laundry right?
leave the man to talk cars with his boys.

The Murano rides on an altrima based chassis (not sure what the new pathfinder's chassis is derived from)

But its still a mid-sized SUV compared to the full sized pathfinder.

So, now I am "attacking" you because I stated my opinion that we don't care? I don't know, maybe you should go play kitchen...or get your man to pay more attention to you.

Full sized Pathfinder, but then there is the Armada. I guess one crossover one body on frame? Kind of like a Tahoe and Traverse?

I still feel like the Pathfinder is smaller than those two. Nissan just made their line up more confusing. If the Murano was pegged as the sporty alternative kind of like the FX is to the JX it would make more sense in my head, but since the new Pathfinder and Murano share the same drivetrain CVT it just screws everything up.

do you always speak for other people?

i'm not butthurt. you're just another one of those that likes to stir the pot and antagonize people just to make yourself feel bigger than you are hiding behind your computer.

i'm done with this conversation.

as far as this thread is concerned and the OP...he's already made his decision and bought his car.

i'm gonna go bake some cookies now and wash my man's drawers after i go and get some attention from him.
