Why do they do this????
Why do all the foreign car makers with a high end line show on their US commercials the European only options, body styles, etc???
If they are that cool, OFFER THEM HERE!
I have seen at least two commercials tonight where the small text at the bottom said "European models shown".

Seriously though, I thought it was just because the marketing division was just too cheap to film essentially the same shot with a domestic spec model, and you can't really blame them. The only cosmetic difference on most European models versus NA models is that the Euros have clear corners, on this side of the pond we have ambers
If they were the exact same cars visually, I don't think you'd even need a disclaimer.

Was it one of the BMW ads? At the end did it have 5 cars lined up and starting from left to right the headlights turned on?
If so, I saw the disclaimer at the bottom and also said wtf.

Cars mean different things to different people in different markets. Typically European customers pay much, much more for premium brand products than a US Customer, so the feature content (both std equipment and options) will be reflected in the price.

The G8 was the only model Pontiac had that wasn't badge engineered from/as another model available in the US, IIRC. Pontiac getting shut down may be tragic historically but in current times it only made sense. But the G8 needed not be a victim of circumstance
