Who would buy the '07 G35 over the '07 TL knowing that...

Just wondering, who here looking to buy a new car in the next 6 months to a year would buy the '07 G35 (with all the known gadgets: 310+ HP, new interior, built in hard drive, etc.... assuming it will price around 37K) over the '07 TL assuming that it will come with a Type-S model with 290 HP, no SH-AWD, no keyless start, no DRL, but just minor exterior and interior design changes and priced around 35K?

I think these are reasonable assumptions and I am sure there are a lot people in the same situation as me...

Well, I need to see what the TL is going to be like in 07...that being said, I'm quite partial to the Acura interior as I think Infiniti's is not as good. But, performance-wise, there's no denying the G35 is much better at this moment...

I'd pick the latter but it can change in a heartbeat if indeed the TL is available as a Type-S in 07.

When is the TL getting SH-AWD? Any rumors...?

If all is changed on the TL is few minor tweaks then i would go for the all new G35.

G35.

In fact my dad was looking at similarly equiped TLs and G35 sedans with 6 speeds and the G35 was leasing at much better rates.

Acura needs keyless ignition, RWD or AWD with manual or clutchless manual before I will buy a car from them other then the TSX(which I already have and while I like I would like something a touch faster, I know it wouldn't take much), also cooled seats would be a nice feature - lexus has all of that on the IS(except the right transmission).

The current TL seems to have more room on the inside as well than a G35.

Actually, the TL may have a tad bit more room.. but in terms of comfort the G35 has better rear seats.. they even recline. Also the G35 has more trunk space.

what's the leg room like in the back though comapred to the TL?

the one thing I'm very happy about with my CL is the amount of leg room that it has even for a coupe.

Who would ??

Someone who is under the impression that RWD vehicles can't be driven in snow might

Someone who highly desires a better fuel efficient vehicles. Ken1997TL just reported getting mid 30's for mpg in a 700 miles trip. I don't think the G would do that...

Someone who like a good bang for the buck and wants a car that comes standard w/ a sunroof, etc etc... instead of buying options ala cart...

BUT...

If someone is looking for a vehicle that can go head to head w/ a bmw 330/335 performance wise (there's no argument that RWD is the optimum performance platform), then the G35 would probably be a better choice...

looks sharp to me. dont like the wood or the exhaust. or the wheels, but im sure the sports package would fix that. i would definately get this car over a 07 TL---by than, the general 3rd gen shape will have been out since 04

Infiniti did a good job with the new G. The interior looks much better than the outgoing model.

Is all this info "known"

Again seems similar to todays argument. Some people just like the overall package that the TL offers over the G

My current plan is getting the new G35 at the end of 08. Let them fix all the bugs in the first model year.

Even if Acura ups the horse power and adds all wheel drive I will still not get it. I live in southern Cal and all wheel drive is no big deal to me. Plus I like driving rear wheel drive more than all wheel drive.

Plus the after market mods for the Acura engines are a joke compared to G35. I want to slap a turbo on the G35.

I just think Infiniti is a step ahead of Acura now. They are making a name for themselves. I think Acura is still lost on what they want to be.

The TL has more leg room and spacer over the current G35. Also the Seats are more comfortable in the TL rear even if they don't recline.

I just got the mini-brochure from Infiniti about the G35. Gota see the car in person first...I like the chassis style, more sportier than the 1st gen. The pics above is the sport version of the G35 like someone mention before. I think the interior space is about the same as the TL...Can't wait for Nov to come along..

I've been to a couple nissan dealerships to take care of my brother's maxima here in so cal, both sucked big time. Bad service reps. My bro-in-law has been to many of them as well since he has an SE-R and he's said every single one he's been to has been really bad too, and he's tried about 3 or 4 of them I think.

I'm not gonna buy a Nissan till something is done about their dealerships service depts

Since when do you get a G35 serviced at a Nissan dealer?

Infiniti happens to have good service departments overall.

My Acura service hasn't exactly been the best either.

I wouldn't base my decision on service as it can vary from dealership to dealership.

Aren't Infiniti dealers completely different from Nissan dealers? I often hear good things about Infiniti dealers, while quite the contrary about Nissan. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Infinit ranked right up there with Lexus on one of the customer satisfaction surveys?
