Where to sell a broken car?

I have a Civic that I'm trying to get rid off. It's a 95 DX. There was an engine swap done to it last year (JDM D15B Vtec Y0!) I haven't driven the car in over a year, but my broeher has and he stopped driving it last month. I moved the car last week and it worked fine. I tried to do it yesterday and it wouldn't start. I had to push it while my friend was steering.

Now I'm wondering, how I can get rid of it? I don't know if it needs a new engine or something minor, but it has those sweet sweet altezzas that my brother put on

I'm looking for $600 OBO. Would autotrader be a good place for a car that's not really running?

JDM D15B?? That doesnt seem like a very common swap. Anyhow, you could probably post adds at local high schools and colleges near by and get a number of takers.

My 15 y/o son would probably go for something like that and immediately swap in a B18C.

Yeah, that's what I thought. I'm basically just selling the car without the engine in mind.

As far as the D15B, the car came stock with a D15B7 in it which was available to the U.S. market (100 hp) The JDM D15B was a direct swap, had about 30 more horses and was available for only around $400 with relatively low miles for a Honda.

Yeah, I wasn't looking for any performance. The engine I had broke down and I just wanted to replace it and the 130 hp one was the logical option. Funny how it costs more to do a break flush and replace a few wires in a BMW than to buy a whole engine for the Honda.

The best part was, i was getting over 45 mpg in this thing...I don't know how. One time I filled up the tank, drove 180 miles and tried to fill it up again and I could only put 3 and a half gallons in it. Gas back then was around $2.

I have seen such (broken) cars being sold on craigslist.org. They normally include "Mechanic's Special" as a part of the title.

I posted an ad on Jesal's favorite forum (Euroteknik) and got about 5 offers already.

Should I sell it to the first guy, or let the bids begin?

Anyone know how that works now? I heard there is a new law that you won't be getting blue book for any car donations now. You get whatever the receiving charity sells it for.

8 offers so far. This is what I said:

"I've received 7 or 8 offers already. I said 600 OBO. If noone wants to pay more than $600, I will sell it to the first guy who contacted me."

Post around on the boards. There are plenty of people looking for a rolling chasis minus the engine.
