When is it okay to pay over Kelly Blue Book for an Acura?

I had a Cl type S (Nav, Spoiler, etc.) that was loaded but it was totaled. I want to get another Acura but I am short on money to buy a new TL...so I found a car that is a 2001 Acura Cl (not Type S) with only 28,000 miles and a clean carfax. Should I stick away from this if he wants $500 more than Bluebook good condition? If you look at Bluebook, they don't deduct a whole lot of money based on having a lot more miles...

If you want the car bad enough, $500 over KBB isn't bad. I bet you can haggle a bit to bring the seller down, though.

He wanted 1,000 over bluebook and he said that he wouldn't go less than $500 over bluebook because it has such low miles. Is this too risky of a car to get at its age or should I be less concerned since it has such low miles?

It's okay only if you want to pay that much, and it's not okay if you don't.

I'd say no, you will never recoup the difference - be patient and find the car you want at a fair price. It's not a sellers market right now, it's a buyers market use that to your advantage.

Remember you are getting a car that's almost 10-yr old ... so even with 28k miles, it's still your call or walk away ...

Which value? Are you talking private party? If so then it is ok, regardless it's your call do you really want it?

I did not consider a P when I got my S.

No, not something 10 years old (or nearly)... Regardless of miles.

I would not pay above KBB for a non-s CL. Keep looking.
